Gerard is crying as he described getting out of his car and into Allison's when they pulled into McDonald's. #badenclay

Gerard: She just came straight out and asked me if I was having an affair with Toni. And I said yes. #badenclay

12:05pm: Mr Baden-Clay said he confessed to having the affair with Ms McHugh to his business partners Mr Broome and Ms Frost.

"There were times I was sleeping with Toni for the sake of the business. I didn't want her to leave the business and I didn't want her to cause any dramas should the relationship end," Mr Baden-Clay said.

"Did that get back to Toni?" Mr Byrne asked.

"Yes it did," Mr Baden-Clay replied.

"She was quite justifiably very unhappy about that and in fact I think at that time we were, the relationship, the affair was in some sort of a hiatus and we got back together for the sake of the business."

"So after that you and Toni got back into a physical relationship?" Mr Byrne said.

"Yes," Mr Baden-Clay replied.

Gerard says Allison got out of the car and sat on the kerb. He got out and sat next to her. She had her head in her hands. #badenclay

Gerard is sobbing as he says she might have felt physically ill, but she didn't vomit. #badenclay

Gerard says Allison asked whether he loved Toni. She told him he had to make a choice. #badenclay

Gerard says there was no choice. Allison told him to end it. She didn't want Toni coming back to the business. #badenclay

Gerard says there was no yelling or shouting. He put his arm around her shoulders and she shrugged it away. #badenclay

12 week scan is not the gender scan, it's for growth, dating and checking NT. 20 week scan is when you can find out sex!

Sorry if already been covered, as usual I'm not quite up to date.

my niece had her scan lastweek found out it was boy it was her 12 week scan.

“Of course I’d had six months of knowing it was a girl so I was delighted and wanted to convey to Allison I was delighted as well because I knew so much of her wanting to have a boy was for me,” he said, again in tears.

He said his wife quickly fell in love with their daughter, bonding with her “just like she had with the other two”.

“I can’t imagine life without (her), so I’m really glad we did have her,” he said.

Baden-Clay said his big vision with the real estate business was to have a network of six or seven offices across the western suburbs, working together as one big team, rather than against each other.

He said he was the principal of the business in 2007.

The accused told the jury he initially hoped to open the business with licensing managers in each office but then decided the best way forward would be to have partners in each.

“At that stage Phil Broom was one of our best performing agents in our office and I felt a good connection with him in a business level,” he said.

Baden-Clay said he discussed Mr Broom buying in and becoming a partner in the business.

He said they made a handshake agreement they would be 50-50 partners in the business.

But the accused said the agreement was never finalised because Mr Broom spoke with Century 21’s top sales person Jocelyn Frost at a state conference on Hamilton Island

GAH, you DIDNT have 6 months to get used to it! it wasn't the 12 week scan where you found out the gender!! It just shows how full of BS he is and how confident he is with his BS and lies!
It infuriates me!

I hope when the prosecution cross examine him they are about all the lies and contradicting stories he has told and he stumbles because he doesn't understand the question he reminds of Jodi arias

Miss W the prosecution had better have their sleeves rolled and their facts ready to face head on.

That's odd because he said earlier the business with Toni was just sex so there'd be no need to say he'd 'decided' all he'd have to say is 'we need to stop hooking up'.

He didn't have time for coffee, he had to go home and do the housework, cook dinner, and put the children to bed.
