This is the first I have heard of transient suicidal thoughts! Did he make that up?

Neither pathologist nor associated experts could determine a cause of death - defence #badenclay

Well, that's because she was left to decay beyond recognition :(

Byrne says pathologist could not determine a place of death. Couldn't exclude body being moved after death, by tide or person. #badenclay

Can he do that??? There was no mention of that that all from her Doctors!

He couldn't determine a place of death or whether the body was moved after - defence #badenclay
Pathologist found drowning or a fall could not be excluded as possible causes of death - defence #badenclay

Also, where did Allison die? The Crown can't say for certain #badenclay

Caroline Overington ‏@overingtonc 51s

Nor can the Crown say when she died, exactly #badenclay

He must have...as it is nowhere in any if the evidence by any of the medical experts !

Byrne points to Gerard. This person is facing the murder of that woman. And we don't have a cause of death. #badenclay

Byrne reminds the jury again about making their decision "beyond reasonable doubt". #badenclay

Allison did have a chipped tooth #badenclay

But he just said there were no broken bones.........

Byrne says Allison had a chip on her tooth which couldn't be aged. No other injuries. No cracking to tooth, no damage to jaw. #badenclay

Drowning was excluded due to the absence of diatoms....what a shambles. This is not going to win Byrne any favours with the judge, jury, nor legal profession.....one does not make up stuff to try and strengthen a weak defence.

Caroline Overington ‏@overingtonc 59s

It couldn't be aged (meaning, it's not clear when she got it) but Allison's jaw wasn't cracked #badenclay

Caroline Overington ‏@overingtonc 42s

Nor was the tooth loose #badenclay

Kate Kyriacou @KateKyriacou · 27s

Byrne says the prosecution has to prove murderous intent - but no injuries detectable. Nothing, whatsoever. #badenclay

  • #157
Just going to go out on a limb here and say the "last person to see Allison alive" would in actual fact have been her killer. So Mr Byrne, that was Gerard was it? No no, good argument :floorlaugh:

Defence: 'Not only was there no determination of cause of death, there was no determination of definite injuries' #badenclay (@liztilley84)

David Murray ‏@TheMurrayD 1m
Pathologist noted Allison's medical history of moderate to severe depressive disorder, transient suicidal thoughts - defence #badenclay

Wait, what?!

The autopsy implies it could be a fall into water or mud I think

But wasn't it a sharp edge?
