This is the first I have heard of transient suicidal thoughts! Did he make that up?

He spent the week end reading medical text books.

Findings make you think no blunt trauma to the face - defence #badenclay

Ummm....well actually it was impossible to tell because of the decomposition, and the level of decomp on the face makes you think that in fact she did have some injury in that area!

Byrne points to Gerard. This person is facing the murder of that woman. And we don't have a cause of death. #badenclay

Byrne reminds the jury again about making their decision "beyond reasonable doubt". #badenclay
'That woman'!!?? RIP Allison June Dickie

The defence says: Can the Crown really prove murderous intent when there are no injuries that point to the cause of death? #badenclay

Byrne says the prosecution has to exclude all other reasonable explanations. #badenclay

Byrne says causes of death left open are alcohol, sertraline toxicity, drowning, fall from height. #badenclay

Byrne reminds the jury that the body was located under a bridge. #badenclay

You've heard in evidence that there were raised levels of alcohol and Sertraline in the body - defence #badenclay
Nothing whatsoever in injuries, yet that man is charged with violent murderous intent - defence #badenclay

10:41am: "He could not determine a cause of death for Allison Baden-Clay," Mr Byrne said of forensic pathologist Dr Nathan Milne.

"And other means of death, such as toxicity, drowning, or falling from a height, cannot be excluded."

The court heard elevated levels of alcohol and traces of the antidepressant drug Zoloft were found in Mrs Baden-Clay's system. The court also heard levels of drugs and alcohol in the body can be falsely inflated during the decomposition process.

Allison's body was found in water under a bridge #badenclay

A fall from that bridge cannot be ruled out as a cause of death, the defence says #badenclay

Defence:"Toxicity, fall, drowning. Those things are not off the page and indeed they are very much on the cards." #badenclay @7NewsBrisbane

David Murray ‏@TheMurrayD 44s
You may think you're asked to consider a murder charge where there's no identifiable cause of death, keep that in mind #badenclay

The judge is giving the jury periodic breaks to help them concentrate on the closing arguments. #badenclay

The judge has told the jury to return when they feel comfortable. #badenclay

Drowning was excluded due to the absence of diatoms....what a shambles. This is not going to win Byrne any favours with the judge, jury, nor legal profession.....one does not make up stuff to try and strengthen a weak defence.

Alioop - can the prosecution come back to refute this within there own Summing up remarks???

No, they (eta: alcohol and zoloft, specifically) are :censored: not "left open". Omg. That's not factually correct.

Yes, under a bridge....not next to...and according to all the evidence and autopsy report, her body was placed in that position.
