THE MISSING

Teresa Marie Byers is one of the latter.

She is case number M0005003, last seen Sept. 1, 1977, when she was 19.

Her fuzzy photo is posted on the DPS Web site. Ms. Byers, the girl with brown hair, brown eyes, slender face and a big smile, is shown dressed in a white peasant-style blouse.

Though the picture was updated in 2001, she hasn't been seen in person for almost 28 years.

Other information attached to her case is sparse: 100 pounds, 5-4 with a cross-like scar on her left hand and last seen in Kilgore.

But, the Kilgore Police Department said her name is not in their computer's search engine for the missing. Nor is her name in the Gregg County Sheriff's Department or the Longview Police Department's computer program.

She must be somewhere.

Captain Randy Hancock with the Kilgore Police Department agreed, but he said after searching "back as far as the computer goes ... we have no Teresa Byers."

I just sent Det. Jay Coffman an email with Teresa Marie Byers information and suggested her as a possible match to Princess Blue. He can look into it further to see if she is worth pursuing any further.

I was able to come up with a REL-Houston 1974 yearbook off of EBay. I should be getting it within the next week. The seller notified me that they shipped it yesterday.

Wow, excellent, RKnowley! Do you have a way to copy it and post the pics and pages to a google spreadsheet? Forgive me asking if this would be a lot of work. I know nothing about that aspect of pc's and google spreadsheets.

I'm not certain about posting pictures using google spreadsheets but if not I will figure out the best way to post them. I could also email them to you if it would make it any easier for you with your slow dial up? Is there a way that would work best for you? I don't mind doing it..whatever it takes, lol!

ETA: Yes, I do have a scanner that I will have to get set back up to do the scans..hehe

Thank you so very much, RKnowley. Downloading pics is very difficult and usually doesn't work if the file is too big. But, when you are ready to email them to me (if you don't mind doing that:)) please PM me first. I will stop my emails from coming in, keep it at the site, and drive to Starbucks for high speed to download.

Sounds good! I will PM you once I get them scanned and I'm ready to email them. I don't think it should take me too long to get them scanned into my computer.

Good then, and I looked forward to when you get the 74 yb! What a find, I might add!

I was doing a google search looking for the 1974yb and one of the links was for an ebay auction (well, actually it was a buy it now) and was actually shocked when it came up. I told hubby that I wished I could get the yb and that we (as a group) had been keeping an eye out for that yb for alongtime. Hubby said "GET IT" and so I did, lol!

Awe, what a kind hubby to understand what this means to you. Kudos, to Mr. Knowley:). Would you like for me to chip in to help cover the cost? No problem if it will help, friend.

Lion

He is a very kind hubby :) Always.

Thank you for your kind offer. This one is on me friend :) I do hope the yb gives us a clue. At least we should find out what girls were there one year and not the next. I guess they'd be the ones we would try tracking down next....somehow. Dang, I wish that book would hurry up and get here, lol! I have things to do!

If the yb doesn't help I guess the only thing we can do is to keep checking missing persons websites for Princess Blue & mailing out more alumni letters. I don't know whatelse to try??

Okay, RKnowley it sounds like a good plan. And, though we may not know what else to do after this, we will eventually figure it out.

Dee, we do have a fairly recent artist's drawing of Princess Blue. It seems pretty well done, but ideally it would be great to have a bust created by a gifted facial reconstruction artist. Chances are that because there is already an artist's sketch of Princess, that artist may pass. But, who knows?

Lion

There was a sketch of Chicago Jane Doe too, but they still did the bust and the bust looks NOTHING like the original sketch. It would be great to see a bust. A sketch is one thing, but a bust puts it into 3D and may increase her chances of being identified...

Great find on the yearbook RKnowley!

Hasn't LE already looked through the yearbooks though?

LE obtained copies the yearbook photos for the 1975 REL-Houston students that were in the senior class that year. They contacted very few female students asking if they had either lost, given away, etc....their class ring.

So, by no means has all that class alumni for that year been contacted nor has the junior class of 1974 been compared to the 1975 graduating class to see what females may have moved away before they were to graduated.

If you need help contacting some of the students, I'd be happy to help.

Too bad that most of the females have probably changed last names by now
:(

Has anyone tried to post a myspace message to the Robert E Lee High School message board?

Each school has their own "hub" on myspace where you can see all of the alumni and current students and where you can also post messages for everyone to see. If this has not been done, it would be a good idea.

Also, doing the same on Facebook would be good too.
