One Florida man learned the hard way that water moccasins do not make the best kissing partners. According to Fox 13, 18-year-old Austin Hatfield of Wimauma was hospitalized last Saturday after being bitten by a cottonmouth while attempting to kiss it.

What a shame. It's illegal to capture them without a permit and he held the poor snake in a pillowcase. It got euthanized for biting him.

Still, I think he'll think twice about holding wildlife in captivity in future. Lucky to escape with his life, it sounds like.
