The "Everything Michael Jackson" Thread

Got $24.5 mil to spare?

Jackson received word Monday from Financial Title Company, the trustee, that unless he pays off $24,525,906.61 by that date, a public auction will go forward in Santa Barbara, Calif., in front of the county courthouse.
It's not just the house either. When Neverland is auctioned, it will include everything: all personal property inside, all fixtures and appliances, furniture, and "all merry go round type devices," any rides, games. The auction literally includes every single thing that is or isn't nailed down.

The Jackson Family is in Financial Distress:

March 23, 2008 -- Stiffed by their superstar brother Michael and plagued by decades of bad fiscal decisions, the once-mighty Jackson family is barely scraping by, with one brother stocking groceries, another repairing cars and others living at home with mom while hoping for sister Janet's next handout.
They have fallen far from their days as sequin-studded stage stars who could rake in seven-figure paydays for a single performance. Then they were the Jackson Five, the undisputed kings of Motown, a Berry Gordy-led, bell-bottomed global phenomenon.
Their first four singles rocketed to the top of the charts, four albums went platinum, and the band of brothers sold more than 100 million albums, second only to the Beatles, while pioneering a multimedia empire that spanned radio, TV, cartoons and magazines.
But in a series of interviews with three of the nine Jackson children, two relatives and a current and former employee - over the last three years and as recently as last week - The Post learned in stunning detail just how down and out the Jacksons are.
Marlon Jackson, 51, an original Jackson Five member who stocks shelves at a Vons supermarket in San Diego, had to temporarily move into an extended-stay hotel.
Randy, 46, does odd jobs, including fixing cars in a Los Angeles garage owned by a family friend. He recently claimed Michael was going to give him $1.7 million - "a pipe dream," said another brother last week.
Jackie, 56, the oldest and most debonair of the brothers, is struggling to manage his son Siggy's aspiring rap career after an Internet clothing business startup and attempts to produce music failed.
Jermaine, 54, shuttles back and forth from his girlfriend's home in Ventura County, Calif., to his parents' mansion in Encino, where Jackie and Randy still bunk. Tito, 55, is the only brother still making music, but it's a meager living. The guitarist fronts a blues and jazz band that plays small venues and nets him $500 and $1,500 per occasional gig - a far cry from the days when the Jacksons could pull in 50,000 people at $30 a ticket.

If Danny Bonaduce could get his life in order after all his post-fame distress, they should be able to pull it out.

Where did all that money go? Yikes!

Their money went the same way Britney's was going, everywhere but a trust they couldn't get more than a bit out of at a time.

Now don't hold back, Amraann...you can share your true feelings here!;)

LOLOLOL!!

It just seems they are sitting back waiting for Michael to bail them out. Like they are not grown adults??
I mean if they want to put together some music then what is stopping them?

I agree...you would think that would be an obvious way to rectify their situation. I am surprised that the parent's home is in or near foreclosure. You would think they would have owned it free and clear.

That family has so many severe "issues" it makes my haed spin. Perhaps they feel like Janet and/or Michael owes them.

I like to spend money as much as the next person and I have been known to spend irresponsibly! But I truly cannot fathom blowing through that volume of cash.

If I ever found myself in the position that I could have a 7-figure payday, I'd work for a month or so, bank the checks and live happily ever after from financial stress. Jeeesh!

Honestly, I think they have squandered all the money made thinking there would always be more. Either from Michael or Janet. It is pitiful that they are such users and it goes back a long way. I just don't feel sorry for this family at all.

First let me say they are all certainly more then old enough to pick themselves up by their bootstraps and start over. But having said that, how much focus did education get once the children hit fame? I don't think Mom and Dad (Dad mostly) did much to prepare his kids for a life outside of music. And reading the whole article makes Michael look like one big piece of !@#$! Not defending the family but it sounds like they've rallied to his side every time the chips were down and then he abandoned them once their usefulness was done. His one brother got money from friends to help finance Michael's defense during the first molestation trial on the promise of Michael paying them back and Michael then leaves the country.

And Michael sicks his bodyguards on him when he does try to see Michael.

Didn't I tell you the next thread about Michael Jackson best be his obituary?:banghead:

Geeesh! He and his entire lying pathetic family make me sick!

What is stopping them is that Michael signed the brothers to HIS record label. That means that if they went to another company and tried to release anything, they would be sued. A contract with a record label is a legal and binding contract that says you can't record under any other label. In other words, he tied their hands in the music making industry on purpose. He is a bigger 🤬🤬🤬 that I once thought he was.

I wonder what LaToya is doing lately? She was a mess a long time ago. I remember when she was on a video with Micheal and Paul McCartney, and she was so pretty...then she had cosmetic surgery and messed up her face, just like her brother. What a family.

There is another sister, too, Rebbie....remember that 80's song "Centipede"?
LOLOL...only thing she ever did. Wonder where SHE is?

The parents still live in a mansion knowing that they are facing foreclosure and their son's have no careers? That's what they all get for abusing kids and allowing older ones to sexually abuse Michael by having sex with girls while in the same room. They should have saved their money and lived within their means instead of a mansion.

I never cared for their music way back then, but honestly who would really buy it today?

I don't know why I know this weird fact but here it comes,

Rebbie still lives at home and helps out mom. She is the one who has stayed in the mansion to take care of their mother.
