The GB4 and Shannan Gilbert-Connecting the dots

I have no doubt you are correct.

I feel you respect at least some of his work, writings, etc... but not most of his opinions (stated thus far) in SG's case... and I find that understandable :)

As I said his leading textbook is literally on my desk.

I object to comments like this:

Former Bronx Homicide Task Force Commander Vernon Geberth says the full-court press should have started the day police found the first four bodies wrapped in burlap.

Because if there wasn't a full court press after they found the G4, I don't know what you would call it. The FBI, Nassau and Suffolk police, NYS troopers, NYC LE. Not to mention Nancy Grace.....

*Not Geberth-related:

Interestingly, I have an easier time accepting that SG was murdered by the same person/duo that killed the GB4 THAN believing Jessica Taylor was also his/their victim. (Does this make any sense?!?)

Spota became angry when Dormer suggested there was a serial killer.

Of course it does. I mean I don't agree but the proximity of the bodies and the Craigslist connection make it a reasonable assumption.

Taylor appears to be a different MO and murdered elsewhere. However, she and Jane Doe #6 are a real enigma. Those parts didn't wind up on Cedar Beach for no reason.

Exactly!

While I previously listed numerous problems, errors, etc with SG's case... I neglected a few other oddities.

A couple of those oddities include Hackett's phone calls and then lying about the calls, AND Fluke's very public rants about Hackett.

Dumbest thing I've ever heard for two people to purposefully interject themselves into a case such as this. And, they are opposite ends of the arguments. I realize this type of behavior isn't unheard of but it certainly baffles my little brain.

While most of the medical malpractice case against Hackett was dismissed, there has to be evidence of "something" for the judge to allow the case to continue. And, although John Ray said he was planning to move forward with this case (and I hope he can, as I believe more information regarding SG could be gleaned through this lawsuit), I haven't a clue as to how the case continues without Mari.

And, even if I felt strongly (like Fluke) that CPH is the villain... I'd surely express my thoughts/evidence/etc to LE, but would I rant publicly... I think not.

I think they disagreed on how many killers... one, two, more?!

I've always felt frustration, irritation and also pity for Dormer.
Spota and Dormer did disagree about the number of killers. Spota did become angry when Dormer said there might be a serial killer.

Spota is getting a well deserved probe as I type....

However, the D.A. can think or say whatever he wants. LE is going to investigate regardless, and after the Gilgo 4 were found there was a massive effort.

fred&edna, correct me if Im wrong. Didnt Fluke tell Robert K that Hackett hid bodies in a shed or something in OB? Does Fluke believe the words coming out if his own mouth? I would say no. Its called revenge. He hates Hackett. You would be surprised ( or maybe not) what hate drives some people to do. I dont know if Hackett meet Shannan. But I would not believe one word that comes out of the mouths of OB residents. Shannans death is being exploited and used to get back at Hackett for a personal reasons. The proofs in the pudding. Just listen to the accusations.

Yes, I remember that comment !! And, yes... I've heard for a long time that there was a personal feud going on between several OB families (which included fluke and CPH). Yes, I agree revenge can certainly be a BIG motivator... and maybe that's all there is to it.

I was just speaking about me (personally) with my previous comment... I couldn't just publicly rant about my thoughts in a situation like this (a disappearance/death), I mean I'd need some "proof" to support all my talk. (I know it's hard to believe since I seem to do a decent job of ranting and being bossy here on WS, lol!)

(Of note though, it's like I also said... there must be a least a little proof of the "possibility" of malpractice or the lawsuit would have been thrown out long ago).

There is a saying that goes something like this: Life is nothing more than a rude interruption of ignorant bliss. Dormer's life has never been so interrupted. Don't have pity for Dormer, be happy for him.

My personal opinion is that he happily escaped b4 the shyte hit the fan...I don't have a problem with Dormer - glad he got out when he could and glad he has done interviews! More info for us!

RBIUBM

Just want to address the burlap comment: LE denies to this day that the "burlap" report came from them. FWIW - bugs the beejeezuz out of me. Was there burlap or not?

Does anyone else think it is worth tracking down the burlap story? Does anyone know where it originated? My best recollection is the Post. Maybe it was in Newsday - IDK.

Dormer said bodies wrapped in bulap did not come from LE. "NOT OFFICIALLY". That means LE let the cat out of the bag.

I agree, Dormer would not address the burlap other than to say they were "wrapped". I'm reviewing Kolker's book again - I have the Kindle version - at the end of BOOK I he is discussing John Mallia the canine officer who found the remains with his dog "Blue". Kolker writes about Mallia and Blue finding something and then Mallia "noticed the burlap - and the skeleton".

I would love to know if Kolker actually interviewed Mallia...

The "skeleton":
According to Dormer Melissa was the first one found. In the arrow security videos he says her "features were identifiable". No mention of her being skeletonized. I'm confused!

Thought I'd just post a link to the Arrow Security / Dormer video :)

" it wasn't decomposed so much that we couldn't identify her features..."the body hadn't been there that long" (he was speaking of Melissa). thanks f&e!

The question is did he make this statement before or after lunch.
