Isn't a grand jury hearing just to get him indicted on charges? Why would that be a long hearing? I'd assume it to be short like his PCH, it's not the actual jury that decides his fate as far as guilty or not, correct? They just decide "yes, he's charged with murder in the first degree" or "no, he's only guilty of child neglect," etc? Im sorry this is kind of a scattered post... I'm trying to understand this process and having trouble putting my thought process into words. :gaah:

I think the media is acting like the GJ might come to a decision today so people pay more attention. I think that is very unlikely.

In the Ramsey case, the GJ met for 18 months. It was pretty much like a "mini" trial. They heard from all the witnesses and even went to the house. So I have always thought that it was much more than just a one-day hearing. I am not saying 18 months is the norm, and of course there were no arrests in that case prior or after, but I feel like one-day is way too short.

Indictment is expected...98% of cases are...but what charges?
It took less than two hours to hear the whole case and deliberate?

Justin Ross Harris will be tried for malice murder as well as seven other felonies, charges that carry a possible death sentence.

I think the media is acting like the GJ might come to a decision today so people pay more attention. I think that is very unlikely.

According to CNN, this Grand Jury won't hear any exculpatory evidence. The lead detective will testify for the prosecution much like he did at the PCH.

I do think we will hear something by the end of the day. IMO
