The JonBenet Ramsey Case in popular culture

I want to share this video as I think it is really is in bad taste but in a way it sums up how the JonBenet Ramsey case has become trivialised and part of a sub popular culture for want of a better way of putting it. This video has many likes though. I wish JonBenet would be allowed to rest in peace but perhaps after like Laura Richards says she gets a voice and identifies her killer and receives justice. Not a voice like in this video though but perhaps as Lou Smit says the piece of her killer she got under her fingernails will tell the true story:

Of course the child beauty pageants were publicly a big part of the case. In my opinion the killer saw the photos of JonBenet at the beauty pageants and that is why they came up with the 'joke kidnapping' as he put in the Ransom Note and he also taunted the country JonBenet loved. Of course because of their twisted and vile actions in a strange way JonBenet has become a 'celebrity' from some perspectives with her image everywhere. Of course she was just a six year old child as we know. However is a reason biography of her as if she were a film star:

A 'pop group' have made a song about the East Area Rapist. There is apparently a 'pop group' named after the Black Dahlia Murder. The point I am trying to make is the world is not often white or black if you excuse the politically incorrect phrase it moves to shades of grey and hence the person in the office sat next to you might listen to this. The Black Dahlia is an old case but it is an horrific murder of a human being and like the Jack The Ripper case when does it become old enough people are not so offended about references to it in a more flippant way:

Extremely Horrific! Very Awful in a Bad Way!

This is a difficult case but mentions another song inspired by a crime:

"The album is about our own experiences and stories," explains Amy, "Songs about the fear of walking home alone at night, stories of what it's like being an all-female band and the power of supporting one another." With that being the lyrical subject, the music that came out is definitely our heaviest." It's clear that darker thoughts were on the Findlay sisters' mind-- "Route 29," with its suspenseful synth intro was inspired by the creepy The Route 29 Stalker podcast the band was listening to as they drove the namesake road on their way to a gig with King Tuff, and the cascading synth line and slinky restraint of the hi-hat on "If I Die" can only distract so much from the song's terror-stricken lyrics.

Here is an interesting article which I think is a joke but nothing would surprise me:

I’m Applying For This Loan To Open A True Crime Bakery

Here is part of the above blog:

From podcasts to Lifetime movies, it’s clear that America is obsessed with true crime and when I say America, I mean middle-class white women. The only thing these ladies love more than gruesome murders are delicious desserts. That’s why I’m applying for this $100,000 small business loan to open the world’s first true crime bakery, “Devil’s Food In The White City.”

Here is another young female who is into her True Crime and combing it with cooking not make up:

I have a lot of sympathy really for Linda Arndt getting saddled with this case in your career on a Boxing Day morning:

Linda, why are you crying into your JonBenét Ramsey Pineapple Tart?

I’m Applying For This Loan To Open A True Crime Bakery

Who Is Linda Arndt? She Was The First Detective At The JonBenet Ramsey Murder Scene

This video is a from a while ago but I will post it because it is about the fascinating subject of female interest in True Crime. I have been amazed by how many young females are interested in True Crime and how much knowledge they have about cases (this is not because they are female but because how young many are). Of course there have been many great female detectives and crime writers with my fellow country person Agatha Christie perhaps being the best example. This is a joke but maybe amateur sleuths have a little way to go to catch up with me in terms of solving them:) (joke). This video also features the great Joe Kenda:

Of course True Crime TV is a big business and here are details of a new channel dedicated to it:

Fred Murray searching for his daughter is one of the most moving things I have seen on the Disappeared program. and I hope he gets answers but his daughters case seems to be another caught in the slightly bizarre true crime world we inhabit with endless Podcasts and theories etc. Here is a cartoon about her case:

This is again another case but here are what sound like animated Aussies discussing the Golden State Killer case:

There is nothing funny about any of these cases. But these posters pick up on the fact EAR/ONS AKA The Golden State Killer was like a ghost a real life Michael Myers riding around on his bicycle etc. This reaction is sometimes understandable in the EAR/ONS case and does not mean people do not care or are bad.

I have to admit for a moment this video made me smile with the Michael Myers joke but I have studied this case for a long time and know the destruction he brought to good peoples lives and still does today. These what sound like youngsters are a little over the top with their jokes but I will give them the benefit of the doubt and it is that nervous laugh you get about something bad you cannot believe.

I have heard John Ramsey mention that there was a case in Boulder where an offender dressed in a ninja style uniform entered another home in Boulder sometime after the murder of JonBenet and this thread from another board may reference it but I am not sure:

Keeping an open mind: read about "Amy", the girl who had a home intruder, and who went to JBR's dance studio. The link is for an EAR/ONS imitator. : JonBenetRamsey

Classic example of why the Ramseys were smart enough to hire high powered public relations professionals instead of detectives dedicated to solving the case. This “Amy” farce has been debunked so many times and in so many ways. The “ninja” was an acquaintance of the mother who was actually a guest. But this story keeps getting recycled every so often by Ramsey Apologists.

Thanks for your post why do you no try and debunk it for me as I am pretty certain someone in a ninja suit from Patsy's part of the world entered the home in 1996. reading your post though I do accept your argument and there may have only been one ninja then. Not sure what you mean by Ramsey Apologists I know that I am sure like you I just want to get to the truth. Cheers.

You may be fairly certain of a lot things and that is not my concern. Pleas understand no “ninja”
attacked JonBenet or “Amy”. “Amy’s” Father hired a private detective who discovered the “ninja” was a frequent guest of her mother involved in an argument. s-september97-intruder.htm
There used to be more links to the private detective giving more details and how the family quickly tried to make this go away but have been scrubbed from Internet. The problem with many newbies looking at this case is they usually do a quick google search and thinks they’ve either solved it or become a case expert. No ninja no intruder.

Thanks for the post. I will bow to your greater knowledge to me on the case of Amy but not I the case of JonBenet herself. I have actually studied the case for a long time and in great detail and I believe there was an intruder and I also believe I know who that intruder was. This is my opinion and it is as valid as all of ours on here and as yours including in the JonBenet Ramsey. Anyway thanks for your post.

I’m not asking you to bow on anything. It is however mind boggling that anyone who studies this case for a long time thinks there was an intruder. There was no forced entry, no intruder would have written the war and peace of ransom notes and no intruder would wait 45 minutes after the head blow to strangle JonBenet.

Thanks for the post. I know this case is one where people tend to have set views. I can see why people have the view it was 'inside job' although I never understand why people think it is Burke as in my opinion this is nasty ill founded theory that has only really come to prominence after The Case Of JonBenet. However I can see why people might suspect John or Patsy in a way although in my view I think they both loved and cared for their daughter very much. My theory really is that of the late Detective Lou Smit but with a suspect. I believe my suspect liked to spend a long time in homes and would have written the Ransom Note as a joke before the crime as he had a sick sense of humour. I think it was a 'joke' but it also served as a big red herring. My suspect also liked to tie ornate knots. I am not going to name him here but you will get some idea of who he is if you read my posts. You may well be right but that is my view and he was no ordinary intruder. Cheers.
