April, evidently there are other missing children in the area. I don't know if this link has been posted.

http://minnea.blogspot.com/2008/12/portugal-dangerous-place-for-children.html

With all respect..how many kids are missing in America? Thats even more heartbreaking as there seems to be thousands...and thats with the great FBI involved even..so..not sure why you give the Pjs such a hard time...

Likewise..some American cops beat people there interviewing..so..are they all corrupt?

It seems to me..that the Pjs get so much crap..when...America is no better really..or England for that matter.

The missing boy who time forgot

http://www.portugalresident.com/portugalresident/pdf/Madeleine_McCann_SUPPLEMENT.pdf

Renè Hasèe, who was six, disappeared
from the Amoreira beach near
Aljezur on June 19, 1996.

As with any other missing children
cases, the file on Renè was sent to the
Polícia Judiciária, said a GNR spokesman.
But the Lisbon headquarters of
the criminal police have no record of
Renè Hasèe.

“The missing people’s database in
digital format goes back to 1996,”, said the
spokesman. “The name is not registered
on the computer database and we have
not found it in the paper entries.”

The disappearance received no
publicity in the Algarve and only
limited media coverage at home
in Germany.

Another missing child gone without trace.
Unbelievable that his file is also missing. :furious:

Poor little Renè.

It seems Madeleine's case is not the only one where the PJ have been less than professional.

I wonder who was in charge of Rene's case. :waitasec:

There isn`t much coverage on Rene's disappearance even on german Websites. I only found some articles published in the wake of the arrest of Martin Ney, the infamous "Masked Man" who scared young boys and their parents in northern Germany for decades.

Because one of the first things publicly known about Ney was that he used to travel a lot and speaks serveral languages including Portuguese fluently there was great concern that he might be responsible for Rene's disappearance. Rene also fits the general description of Ney's known victims quite well (blond and handsome). But as far as I know investigations didn't bring up anything.

There is also some speculation that Ney took Maddie herself. But I think, this is out of question because all his victims were boys.

When did casa Pia shut down. I just wonder if these abductions happened after it was shut down and could somehow be connected to that.
