Warning: post mortem as attachment.

Cases from Holland are normally send to European countries/countries attached to Interpol. That doesn
‘T rule anybody out (history learned us).

The post mortem is so clear, i think a match is certainly possible, but he needs you, all over the world, to take s look!

“Police are once again asking the public's help in an investigation into the identity of a man found dead in Westzaan in 2010. He more than likely comes from Romania or Bulgaria and came to the Netherlands about six months earlier.”

“A scar on his left hand suggests the man who was between 20 and 30 years old may have worked in horticulture..”

A Ben Sherman watch and a chunky chain around his wrist both sound like 2 things to young British men would wear. Converse shoes too.
He even looks British, IMO.

MOO.

According to this article:

Politie nog steeds op zoek naar identiteit Westzaanse dode - Zaanstad

"He more than likely comes from Romania or Bulgaria and came to the Netherlands about six months earlier." <He was found lifeless on March 10, 2010, so approx. October 2009>

I don't know why they think that...maybe there is more somewhere about this. Isotopes f.i.

Yes, i was aware. Then again, if he was a Romanian or Bulgarian citizen, maybe he would already be identified. So i searched elsewhere, because maybe his info wasn’t shared with many countries because they thought they knew where he was from.
Maybe one of the men i posted first went to Romania/Bulgary or maybe he travelled along with gipsy like people from these countries and they based his possible nationality on products or material from those countries? If it was simple, he would have been identified by now…

I am not sure, there is a lot of poverty in Romania and Bulgarian going on.
I guess most travelled to make a living,in other EU countries, maybe the UK before coming to NL?
Many were exposed to human exploitation or trafficking, att.
It was a very shady business, many worked illegal.

This only changed in 2014,they were free to cross the border and without a working permit.

I’m looking forward to your possible matches from Romania & Bulgaria.
Hopefully, if we all look out for him, we will find him and bring him home. A girl can hope :)

Yesterday I searched through the official Romanian missing persons website Poliția Română - Poliția Română because that seems to be the first logical step and to be sure we don't overlook anything. Trust me, nothing easy about that. There are some persons who have the same facial traits, but have brown eyes, don't fit in the age range or are missing after this John Doe was found. Nobody in particular stood out to me. Also looked through the most wanted.

Then through this https://twitter.com/lipsva and this site Липсва - Регистър за безследно изчезнали лица for Bulgary, but it only goes back to 2013 and it seems that the "project" had ended. Not easy also. Maybe there is another website with missing persons.

I think that this person isn't reported missing, went abroad to work in the Netherlands, maybe was estranged from his family. The area he was found has a lot of horticulture businesses where people from the east block are and were hired, sometimes unregistered, because they can earn much, much more then in the country of origin, but are still "cheaper", without building up a pension or insurance, or all things required to be arranged for employees by law in the Netherlands.

I still wonder why they think this person originates from Romania or Bulgaria. The clothing doesn't point to that as far as I see. I know that in Europe isotopes are lot more accurate then in f.i. America. Wish we knew.

My name is Bit of Hope, so yes a girl can hope :)

I think this is a very interesting read about the problems with the registration of missing persons data in Bulgaria. In short: there is still no national database. The lipsva site is "the best you can get" on this topic. Let say there are people on the yellow pages of Interpol, but that is only a fraction of the amount of people missing. The person who wrote this started a kind of database a long time ago to tackle this serious problem, but stopped. The arguments and explanation is in here.
