do you smell the gas inside or outside the vehicle. GM plastic fuel lines have a tendency to crack and not show their face unless you have all the engine covers off, the engine running, and you bend the hoses so as to expose a crack. That will lead to a slight gasoline odor. Also you could have a bad Evaporative emissions canister or canister purge solenoid. That would also lead to your problem... Are they checking it for free or are you paying diag??? If I was getting paid diag I would sure as hell find it so I could get paid for doing the job too, but some people are lazy and live on diag money. My techs wont be doing that I assure you... As far as the As go I cant tell. Pretty stone face if you ask me.

Both but the trans in my car is broken right now so just watching lately. Its hard to run mid 12s with no third or fourth gear

Sounds like a cracked fuel line or maybe even a bad injector O-ring to me... I would keep bringing it back until they find it... And dont let them bully you in to "more diagnostic time". They didnt find it the first time so the problem is still an open concern.

GTOs are cool cars. I like them but they are laden with way too much driveline protection from the factory... Torque management threshold is set stupid low on those. In between gears it closes the throttle 20 percent.:bang:

Okay I have a car related question..I have a Jeep Liberty and no I don't race it LOL..I leave that to my father, he has a fully restored 1968 Road Runner..it's gorgeous and FAST...no clue what's in it but when he starts it you need ear plugs..

Anyway back to my Jeep..if I'm turning, I hear a noise..I know that's vague but any clue what that could be? I need to get it into the shop but haven't had the time.

...just for grins...while u wait for Nitrous' answer, since he knows what he's talkin about...

If you haven't already checked the power steering fluid level, you should. It could be as simple as low fluid level. Also check the condition & tension of your drive belt...look for cracks and if you can move it up and down more than 1" (very rough) it may be slipping and need to be replaced. Dunno if Jeeps have a single serpentine or multiple belts, but, this isn't expensive to replace even if you can't do it yourself.

If you have time to check before Nitrous gets back to you, it might be helpful for him to know:
* if u get the noise turning both directions, or only one direction
* describe the noise...a grindy whirring noise, or a higher pitched squeal
* if the noise starts from the moment you turn, or only deep into the turning...approaching the full-stop on the steering
* if the noise occurs similarly in a turn when the car is (a) still, and (b) going ~20-30mph, (c) highway speeds, lane changes, etc.

Just some things that might make it easier to sleuth
