The reason for the trademark on Caylee's name

  • #81
Yeah that's it. It takes it 3 months to make it from there to the next level. You can search the serial no's under check TARR status as well. They are definitely there. I just shortened the input phrase to Caylee only so it would bring up everything they had with that term...

Well, I'm still confused. What's the serial# you refer to?

Wow, so the A's trademarked Caylee Anthony's name. That's sure to get Casey a bit miffed don't ya think?

I wonder what's going to happen now? Can G&C keep Caysey from using Caylee's name in a book or other "ventures" -- interviews, etc.? Wouldn't that be ironic!

Didn't she write to Cookie that she was really upset with CA for this, that she felt so betrayed? So does CA now have to relinquish the rights to these patents to her daughter?

Technically, and I believe from a legal standpoint, the grandparents shouldn't be able to trademark Caylee's name, since they are not the next of kin.

But this is prolly best left to a real attorney and not one that pretends to be on the internet...LOL.

Wouldn't Casey have to sign over rights to Caylee's name? In any case, I think Casey will be hollerin for the rights as soon as possible.

I sure hope Casey has to at least fight to get this back. Maybe Cindy can do some bartering. You talk to me and I'll relinquish this patent.

I thought she wrote to "cookie" a while. Sometime prior to may 2011 which is the filing date of that tm

Almost certain that would not occur.

The trial started on May 9, 2011-Jury selection began, isn't that correct?
So AFTER the trial is already in progress, through their attorney, the Anthonys made this application...
SICKENING to me to say the least.

It will take at least 3 months before they even have a chance to ACTUALLY get the trademark...and then maybe some more time after that. SO Ex-inmate Anthony may have a chance to fight them on that score...

Oh but wait, she will be very busy litigating, what with Zanny suing her, and Tim M. possibly suing her, and the State of Florida suing her...and the IRS after her, and some more sure to come up out of the woodwork...She will be busy busy busy...

I am sure she will make some time for those rights though and that particular fight, since her parents and NOT her will control the kingdom if this makes it through.

Yes, Casey will probably get the trademark, there is a 6 week period after the trademark app is complete (in a few months) that anyone can contest it. I am sure they will award it to Casey as she is the closest living relative. This is all very sick.

I noticed the Goods and Services only included T-shirts, buttons etc. ... the trademark if approved would only be for those items
It sounds to me, given the date of application, that the Anthonys were trying to prevent trial watchers, protestors, etc from producing these items and selling them ... IMO ... and not because they wanted the market on them, just that they didn't want anyone else to

Let's see, your daughter is on trial for murder, possibly faces the death penalty, has tons and tons of evidence against her ... and your worried about people making a few bucks off of T-Shirts ????????? WTH ?????

The A's wanted tobe the only people to make any $$ off their grand baby IMO. And the fact they they never imagined ICA would be found not guilty.

IMO all this means is Cindy is the only one who can make blood money off Caylee's death. Plain and Simple..

The world at large will just edit to make it fit, Caylee Marie, or No justice for Caylee Marie...and can STILL profit. They cannot stop free commerce. They cannot trademark everything to do with Caylee. Heck, folks could just use CAYLEE and anyone would know whom they were talking about...This does not STOP anything...so what does it do?...and why?...

My head is gonna explode!

ohhh...great idea! Put those 2 in a boxing ring and let them have at it!! But it makes me wonder if Casey just won't continue to hide behind her attorney's and let them do the fighting for her.

I noticed that too. I looked up IC 025. US 022 039 and it applies to a Wordmark, or anything with Caylee Anthony on it. So while it says t-shirts, it can be extended to just about anything.

But it's important to note, they trademarked Caylee Anthony (they didn't trademark just a first name like Cher, Madonna, or Walmart). So I think this is quite a fine line.

Anyone can say Caylee -- just like in the song, and I don't think the A's can do a single thing about it.

They are targeting (IMHO) sites that are promoting Caylee Anthony gear and those that use the Anthony name.

That's just my opinion. :)

Thanks,

Mel

My sentiments exactly. Heck, why didn't the trademark "CMA". Now that would surely tick Lee off ;) I think they are just attempting to protect the Anthony name and that's it.
