The Responsibilities of the University and Threat Assessment

So if School is denying it, is the prosecution lying?
Where do we believe? The School or the Prosecution?
IMO, i believe on the prosecution at this time :)

School denies it had banned James Holmes

University of Colorado Denver spokeswoman Jacque Montgomery later disputed that James Holmes was banned from campus but confirmed that a criminal background check was done on him before the July 20 attack.

Sources briefed on the investigation told CBS News correspondent John Miller that what the University of Colorado knew ahead of the movie theater shooting and when they knew it is going to generate a lot of controversy when the information is released.

Montgomery did say that campus Police Chief Doug Abraham was referring to that background check when he said at a July 23 news conference that Holmes had only a minor infraction on his record.

Getting interesting folks...looks like Prosecution is feeding us with info :) and it beginning to match my theory :)

DA in James Holmes case: June events led to Aurora massacre
On the day in June that James Holmes failed the crucial oral examination for his neuroscience program at the University of Colorado Denver, he bought an assault-style rifle.
Also in June, the same month that professors told Holmes that perhaps he wasn't cut out for a career in neuroscience, he quietly stockpiled explosives.

Also in June, Pearson said Holmes made threats that so worried CU officials that they contacted police. She didn't specify what the threats were.
Aurora police Chief Daniel Oates said Thursday his department was not notified of any threats, either by CU leaders or by the campus police department.
"We didn't know about any of this before the shooting," Oates said.

On the other hand, i am confuse why Defense would not allow Prosecution to go this path. This is going to help them pursue Insanity Case. That JH 's Madness was triggered by his depression, stressors and his professors telling him to change his field of study. They could say that his performance declined from the beginning because they already doesnt want him to continue the graduate school.

What do you guys think of Defense recent's objections about Prosecution's request to get school records?

~respectfully snipped~

I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. I don't believe the U banned him from campus, but did restrict is access (via his key card). MOO

I have a feeling that "somebody" from the school is secretly talking to the Prosecution :) ...

ITA. The school removed his key card access. Prosecution called it being banned from campus, but in reality he would only be unable to access restricted areas. No the whole campus.

Because it provides a motive.

Prosecution is going to need to back up their dates or explain why the gun/ammo purchases actually began in May. With the very little info we have and my own understanding of the emense amt of stress one experiences while in grad school, I can partially buy the theory that he "cracked" under the pressure, but we really haven't seen evidence which explains this fully. Two major questions I still have with this "snapping" and revenge theory are:
1) Why did he begin purchases in May before his oral exam?
2) Shooting people, including children, in a movie theater doesn't make sense to me for someone who just wants revenge against his university department.

IMO, he failed the actual final exam and June 7 could be a final make-up exam . He has until June 8 before he drop it. He purchased his glock on May 22 , a day before the final grades will be submitted

Maybe the semester/finals had to do with it. Or his MicroRNA presentation on May 8th didn't go well (or didn't go at all?) But, why not get revenge at the commencement May 25?

Because he was possibly promised that he'll have a chance for the make-up exam on June 7?

He made threats in march.

DENVER (AP) - Newly filed court records allege that the man accused of opening fire on an Aurora movie theater told a classmate he wanted to kill people four months before the shooting.

Prosecutors made the contention in a motion released Friday. They are seeking access to James Holmes' records from the University of Colorado Denver's neuroscience graduate program. Prosecutors wrote that Holmes left the program in June after also making unspecified threats to a professor that month and failing his year-end final.

AURORA, Colo. -- Aurora movie theater shooting suspect James Holmes told a University of Colorado classmate in March that he planned to kill people "when his life was over," a prosecutor said in court records released Friday.
This statement was made about four months before the July 20 shooting rampage at the Century 16 theaters, the prosecutor said.
Then in June, he failed his graduate school oral examinations, and he was denied access to CU's Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora on June 12 "after he made threats to a professor at the school," Arapahoe County Chief Deputy District Attorney Karen Pearson wrote in court papers.
As the 24-year-old neuroscience student voluntarily began withdrawing from the graduate program and was denied access to campus, "he began a detailed and complex plan to obtain firearms, ammunition, a tear-gas grenade, body armor, a gas-mask and a ballistic helmet, which were used in the commission of the murders and the attempted murders," Pearson wrote.

so on March he told classmate that he wants to kill people when life is over.
What do we have here, Sounds like a frustrated person but the same time mad...mad at someone because he wanted to kill him/her/them IMO

Life is over = his education
March = semestral break, midterm grades / status in
Who is this classmate ? , my opinion, this classmate is the "someone from school" now feeding prosecution with information
and who does JH wants to kill? = sounds like he's mad with a professor

Who is this professor that advise him to choose a different study or profession and when did he tell JH that? I dont think Fenton is his professor IMO

Keeping this theory for now :

He has a new professor on Spring semester that he personally dislike or the professor doesnt really like JH too. This prof is important for him to keep the program. Prof made his school life miserable and he started failing, demotivated , frustrated and mad.

Midterm , his grades are failing. He is sharing frustrations to classmate and school counselor advise him to talk to Fenton. JH shared his dreams, emotions, expectations to Fenton. He started all his delusions, plans, and science testing on bombs. He purchase this and that

Day before final grades comes in, this prof told him that he will fail him. He went home mad and purchased his first glock. Talked to Fenton about it and Fenton tried to talk to the school to give him a chance again. June 7 was scheduled , so JH went there hoping a chance to change it, but the prof already made up his mind...he failed again. That day
JH bought another gun. He tried to come in to the school but was pissed when he learned that his access was terminated and he made some threats again that put Fenton on alarm. She told Beta Team about this, they run a background check if he can commit any criminals.

JH spent the remaining days planning, shopping, experimenting, drinking beer, spending time on AFF and etc, until he gets a notice that he will have to leave the apartment since he is no longer in school. He doesnt want to go back to San Diego as a failure so he colored his hair, and plan the attack where he can get a lot of victims and these victims will blame the school later and not him. He wants the school to pay, and he wants this professor to be fired and be miserable too....For him, he wants to prove to this professor that he is not dumb and can carry this out while claiming insanity.

This is just my theory. I could be wrong
His school depressions, frustrations, stressors are the major reason for his madness
Is he insane for me? I think he has problems before but his madness was triggered by all of this. He doesnt know that what he's doing is not right, all he wants is revenge and to show this professor that he is not stupid as what he thinks.

all imo, subject to change when new info comes again..
