The Responsibilities of the University and Threat Assessment

1) Why did he begin purchases in May before his oral exam?
2) Shooting people, including children, in a movie theater doesn't make sense to me for someone who just wants revenge against his university department.

This puzzles me too…

But I've noticed that a movie theater looks very much like a college lecture hall (theaters). Perhaps he decided to "teach a lesson"….

I am sure now that his name is in the court docs, we can continue discussion about his actual involvement with JH aside from being classmate. Looks like his name was mistyped in the court docs. It should be YEOM PYO LEE. Right now his social meda sites got deleted or deactivated but many people previously was able to see it because reuters twitter mentioned his name.

Keeping this theory for now :

He has a new professor on Spring semester that he personally dislike or the professor doesnt really like JH too. This prof is important for him to keep the program. Prof made his school life miserable and he started failing, demotivated , frustrated and mad.

Midterm , his grades are failing. He is sharing frustrations to classmate and school counselor advise him to talk to Fenton. JH shared his dreams, emotions, expectations to Fenton. He started all his delusions, plans, and science testing on bombs. He purchase this and that

Day before final grades comes in, this prof told him that he will fail him. He went home mad and purchased his first glock. Talked to Fenton about it and Fenton tried to talk to the school to give him a chance again. June 7 was scheduled , so JH went there hoping a chance to change it, but the prof already made up his mind...he failed again. That day
JH bought another gun. He tried to come in to the school but was pissed when he learned that his access was terminated and he made some threats again that put Fenton on alarm. She told Beta Team about this, they run a background check if he can commit any criminals.

JH spent the remaining days planning,shopping, experimenting, drinking beer, spending time on AFF and etc, until he gets a notice that he will have to leave the apartment since he is no longer in school. He doesnt want to go back to San Diego as a failure so he colored his hair, and plan the attack where he can get a lot of victims and these victims will blame the school later and not him. He wants the school to pay, and he wants this professor to be fired and be miserable too....For him, he wants to prove to this professor that he is not dumb and can carry this out while claiming insanity.

This is just my theory. I could be wrong
His school depressions, frustrations, stressors are the major reason for his madness
Is he insane for me? I think he has problems before but his madness was triggered by all of this. He doesnt know that what he's doing is not right, all he wants is revenge and to show this professor that he is not stupid as what he thinks.

Your theory makes sense. I'm still questioning why the theater. I know it's been discussed and people have posted their opinions as to why he chose this venue but I'm still questioning it. If he was angry with the University or a professor or a group of professors or a department and we know from court documents that he started talking about killing people as early as March and purchased a gun in May before he was denied access to the University premises, wouldn't it make much more sense that he would have carried out his crime at the University?

My post in no way is meant to imply that this horrific crime would have been better to be carried out in one venue rather than another. It's meant to understand why he chose the theater when it is clear that all his victims had nothing to do with his failure. If we take the disgruntled employee crimes the motive is clear. In this case, we're left scratching our heads.

I think it is more on a VOIP/ voice over ip phone at home, he was able to access it because he has access to the router. The threats are not clear...he could have call LE to warn them about JH's plans but at the same time scared. His english is not good, as he posted before on his twitter that he needs someone to teach him english , they could have twist what he said. For me he doesnt look dangerous, but looks can be deceiving but his fb profile pic that he changed was a little bit creepy for me.

He was using pyo for all his social media sites, facebook, twitter, linkedin...unfortunately all of these got deactivated/ closed couple days after his name came up from twitter and foxnews in denver. Lots of people search him, thinking he was the 2nd POI. I believe there are couple more sites that are still active and he use "yeompyo" or "yeompyolee" as username. His instagram has 2 pictures left. On the video i posted on his first rotation talk it was posted by another lee...i dont know his relationship with him but his fb account is pointing him as someone who works at the school , CU as a professor/ research doctor.

that is what am trying to see that's why i tried checking names on the staff/faculty at anschutz and see if it matches any victims...you are good in sleuthing, maybe you can find that ..i really wonder who is this professor, at one article before, one professor treated some students out for a drink after their exam and told them that JH emailed and dropped out. The student didnt think jh failed, they just thought he moved back to California IMO.

I think based on CU's talks and her name on the news...it is Angie Ribera or Angeles Ribera. She is a program director / professor for them. Google her name. Her picture was also shown in one of the news, wearing green shirt with short hair .

why in the theater, my guess is, he wants more victims as much as he can handle, it is dark in the movie theater, therefore he cannot see much all these blood , people getting hurt , effects of what he is doing and playing insanity is going to be part of this plan.

He was in the car when caught, why he didnt leave when everyone was leaving? IMO, he wants to be caught too IMO

yes, i think the beef is with the teacher....."when life is over" is obviously about his education..i dont think other students is going to affect his studies specially if he is really that smart. Only teacher and him can have a lot of impact on his life /education IMO

I just think that he wants to kill as many as he can so he can tell this teacher, look what you'ved done to me, you ruined me, my mind and these people's lives....

I am wondering about the gag order here. Does it apply to info the DA states? It is just the first that I have heard of a threat to a professor. And, how about the CU student that heard threats in March.

I guess I don't understand the gag order.
