I think we decided it really doesn't matter, he suffered, wasn't rendered unconscious.

Aside from that I'd say we are still running around 50-50 the best guess

Its up to 68/30 now (shot last).

I'd be a great juror if they'd ever let me serve on one, dang it. You would be a good one, too. Ever done it?

Yes, never had any arguments during deliberations though. We were all in agreement on the criminal one I sat on and the civil one we had one that quickly switched.

What is the WS consensus on shot or stabbed first?
Sent from my iPhone

Is there a poll for this?

I think it was stab, throat, shot. I go with heart stab first because he broke her heart---and that is the most "meaningful" wound---and I agree with what has been said here countless times, stabbing is "personal"--and this was a grisly, personal slaughter NOT a clean, "humane", killling (gun). Those are the psychological reasons I think the knife came first. The evidence reasons are the bloodbath everywhere.

Oh no, he wasn't. That was his Achilles heel. He would have been done with Jodi long before except for the exciting, forbidden sexual relationship, complete with naughty pictures and sex games. That was what kept drawing him back. His very own text messages show it and the same was said by Chris and Sky Hughes.

It's reported that JA had his phone password. The prosecutor asked the Verizon expert about messages sent from a phone logged in as someone else would give the location of the call not from the location of the person who owned the phone and he said yes. So if she logged in to his phone and sent a text to herself they NOW are able to tell that by the location of the text. That was my understanding.

Defense is very upset because they claim to have just found out that text messaging technology has been available for the past two years and that it's the State's fault that they did not know. I would have thought defense would have their own experts looking into those text messages if they were that important to their case. I don't think the State introduced those messages just asked the rep. if it were possible. jmo

I havent been this excited about TV in a looooong time... does that make me crazy? Wait... never mind... no need to answer that. :blushing:

lol... nobody's crazy around here. We're just... inspired! (that's what I tell myself, it helps ;) )

Wonderful!! Moving right from a movie about CA to JA.

Hope I don't have nightmares!

Lifetime will have the CA movie on loop every Saturday til the end of time. I can't watch it, I can't stomach any more CA. And I mentioned yesterday I can't handle Drew Peterson parading around as Jeff Ashton! WHY Rob Lowe, WHY?!?!?!?

  • #428
Linda This movie is based on Ashton's book. It's NOT in support of CA. It is supposed to depict the frustration of the prosecution and how disappointing the verdict was... or else I wouldnt have any desire to watch it. I hope they IDIOT 12 watch and have nightmares about how hugely they FAILED!!

Ooooooh! Thank you for that. I loved Jeff! I love a good sarcastic cocky arrogant passionate lawyer.

I may need an intervention! I was scared too... I thought... these people are going to think I'm crazy.. and I may be at this point. Sorry everyone... lol It's just so nice to be able to have a place to discuss the case... None of my friends have even heard of JA or TA and I'm totally engulfed in the trial and details!
I watch all the Crime mysteries. I specialized in Criminal Justice in college... wanted to do something in the CJ field but life had other plans... ended up raising 4 kids as a single mother and taking care of my dad who's health was failing... So this is as close as I get to the dreams I once had... I have no regrets. Lost both mom and dad in 2004 and will never regret being there for them. Anyway... I love this stuff!! Not everyone does tho... it's just so great to have some place to converse with others who are as interested!! Thanks everyone for allowing me to be here!! :great:

Hi, glad you joined the conversation. You might find yourself doing reenactments of the crime, but it's OK, it comes naturally to WB'ers.

If you like a good puzzle come post at JonBenet Ramsey's thread and give us your opinion with your background. It's a haunting case that stays with you.
Also if you didn't keep up with Casey Anthony there is so much information here on that miscarriage of justice. Those are just a few of what Websleuths has. OK back to topic at hand.

Jodi Arias has even managed to taint the reputation of doggie doors. I think the Humane Society should sue her. Take THAT for "humane" Jodi.

It sounds like Jodi used that doggie door more than the dog since Travis' friend said the dog frequently left messes in the house.

Thank you. Where did you find it?

We were talking about JA's attorney. I googled Kirk Nurmi and that picture was in the results... I hadnt seen it like that before... It was like a lightbulb came on... I could "actually see" what they had been talking about. So I had to share here.
You're welcome.

Another interesting thing I wanted to share. I was chatting with a male coworker, same age as Travis was at the time of the murder. He has zero knowledge of this case; never heard of it. I was telling him about it, gave him the general overview of the 2 people involved, their relationship, his religion, her obsessiveness/"fatal attraction," their sexual shenanigans, and then the basics of the murder and what she did.

ANYWAY, my male coworker immediately mentioned that while the guy (T.A.) didn't deserve to be murdered, he was clearly playing with fire by continuing to get his freak on with someone who had demonstrated she was kinda crazy, not to be trusted, and not someone he wanted to be with and so he ultimately had a hand in his own death--again, not that he deserved it, and not that she was at all justified, but he saw the gray area that many do not want to see because it seems like T.A. is being blamed for his own death.

Now I know how defensive folks get about T.A., but I had to share this because it came from a typical guy who had no prior knowledge of or opinion of this murder or the 2 people involved.

Also, I noted on the 48 Hours show that Sky Hughes (wife of T.A.'s best friend) when asked if she sort of "blamed" Travis for continuing to be involved with Jodi when he was very clear she was not for him and was trouble, admitted she did/does feel that way. I thought that interesting.

I was playing the 48 hours in the back ground... Heard JA talk about how TA was suppose to go out and see her at the end of May....BUT he didnt go. (Proof that he no longer wanted to see her?) A week later... SHE goes to see him... and he ends up dead. Maureen Mahar says:" But when Travis postponed his trip... Jodi planned a trip of her own!" Imagine how furious she was when he didnt show... How dare he stand her up!! *chills*

I believe that was actually the second time Travis had "postponed" his trip out to California. This was mentioned very briefly in one of Flores' first interviews with Jodi.

I think when Jodi left Mesa she spent two months just ruminating and obsessing over Travis as he pulled away from her, made excuses for not seeing her and ultimately told her to stay out of his life for good one week before she killed him. She told Flores that Travis yanked all his passwords from her two or three weeks before she killed him -- so if Travis changed his passwords and she lost access to him, her obsession turned into complete rage at her loss of control.

I do not believe that Travis knew Jodi was coming, and I can't even imagine what kind of tale she spun to get him to let her in -- maybe said she was starting a relationship with a new guy and she wanted to spend one last night with Travis and say goodbye and make a clean break. Could have been anything

I don't think they'd EVER let any of us sleuthers on a jury panel!!

Thank you for the photos.

Interesting to me is the neighborhood. The homes are close together. While we believe she arrived at his house while it was still dark outside, where did she park? Her car would have been in plain view of the neighbors for hours. And when did she leave so as not to risk being seen by anyone? Surprisingly no one saw her and most surprising is no one came home while she was still there. How did she know his roommates wouldn't come home?

:waitasec:

MOO

From my experience in AZ- not many people are hanging around outside in the month of June- its pretty hot, even in the evenings. Most people go from air-conditioning at point A to air-conditioning at point B and don't spend too much time in between.

Another observation in many of the communities built with attached garages with entrances is that people drive in to their garages and close the garage door behind- sometimes not interacting much at all with their neighbors, especially if the mail is also delivered directly through a mail slot.
