The phone sex conversation was taped by her, right? Or did he tape it?

Do we know why it was taped? As a souvenire or keepsake?

I missed hearing this clip during the defense OS, but I'm sure we'll all get an earful and hear it on repeat soon enough. Ugh.

This is very true, but I think we all know that people in abusive relationships don't always leave when prudent. I'm not saying this is clearly what happened... Just that it's possible.

Not leaving is one thing. Moving States to be near your "abuser" AFTER the relationship has ended then once again moving away then traveling hundreds of miles to see them carrying at least 2 weapons...well, this is in a whole other territory imo.

But I'm sure Ms. LaViolette will explain that all to us. :furious:

I think I will nickname her "Violene" to give my typo last week a reason for being.

I didn't know a clip was played...I just heard Wilcox referencing it. It's my understanding that Jodi taped it. Probably so she could continue obsessing with it (ew).

I think they could do a whole lot better (in terms of my personal entertainment) in putting Jodi Arias on the stand. :please:

By the way, I'm heading back down there on Wed. for the afternoon session. And maybe also Friday for some of the day. I may need some Ativan laced in my water so keep me from getting ejected from the courtroom. :shush:

Yay for you attending (for us then getting your awesome court report)!

No court on Friday, I don't think.

Maybe you'll get to see Gus live in the flesh. Watching him would be like a Coen Brothers movie. Something uber bizarre.

Oh that's right..forgot about dark Fridays...whew! Well that answers that. I might adjust things and head back for Thurs. morning testimony then. I just don't know how much I can stomach of the defense case but if Jodi testifies...I'm there. I'll take good notes. ;)

If Gus was trying to contact the DA "lots of times", what was he trying to contact them about? I wonder. And I wonder why they didn't call him back.

Do we know the back story on this?

Ugh rewatching him still sitting there smiling and smirking with his big fat gold ring and gold salesman brooch. :slap:

Gus didnt impress me in the least.

It is like he is going to shade his testimony based on which side called him back and made him feel important.:furious:

Okay I have a different take on today.

WHY is Chris Hughes contacting someone who is going to be a(nother) witness in the case? Did he not know that is a big no-no? And where did Skye Hughes get the info about Gus S. being a witness, and why can't she keep her mouth shut (either)?

Yes, Gus is sleazy, but the Hughes are making things worse by gossiping and trying to get info and then passing it along. Making remarks about anyone in the case (including the lawyers) to another potential witness is really stupid. Doesn't matter if their observations about Nurmi are correct or not, it was not their place to instigate contact with Gus S. And they did. And they not only instigated contact, they specifically asked about his being a witness in this case. Not okay.

So I hold the 2 of them (Chris & Skye Hughes) accountable for this cluster****. Isn't it common sense that if you believe you will be a witness in a murder trial you keep your mouth shut? And that means, say nothing to anyone? That's the only way to protect the integrity of a case. Not just when a judge tells you to, but from the beginning. You talk to the police, you talk to the district attorney or whoever is working on the case, and then you shut up about what you know or what you hear for as long as it takes for a legal case to be resolved. If it's years, like this one, then it's years. You say nothing except to the case principals and only when asked. Sheesh.

And why was Gus trying repeatedly to contact the State Prosecutor?

The door slammed in my face again when I hit reply in the closed thread so Im bringing this one over to reply to it.

OK....where are all these things being pulled out of??? "He let her in"???? "He showered with her"????
"Took nude photo's with her"??? He wasn't in ANY of the photo's "with" her....the shower ones even SHE said he wouldn't have liked, AND it looked like he didn't even know she was there for a good number of them
.
You are right though, there's soooo much we don't know AND never will because the only "story" we have...take yer pick which one...are ONLY what the person who commited the vicious act tells us.
Like a sage judge from the Anthony trial had said about Casey, I'll substitute the name....But, the truth and Jodi Arias are strangers!!!!

BBM

Where in the heck is that misinformation coming from???

The only photo of Travis is two snapshots taken from the side when his penis isnt erect. Please tell me how that is a turn on sex photo of a male? There isnt one photo taken of them in any sexual act and good grief she could have taken those gosh awful nasty photos of her bottomless pits herself. She told Flores she was always taking photos of herself and then deleting them. Shows just how narcissistic this 🤬🤬🤬 truly is.

There is absolutely no evidence he let her in that day but we do know in the past she would just appear in his home going through the doggie door.......sleeping on his couch with him asleep upstairs and not even knowing she was there......and spying on him in his home when he and his girlfriend had fallen asleep watching a movie while sitting in a bean chair. She is one creepy woman.

IMO

Yeah, he has all this startling information for both sides. Aka, he will blow with the wind depending on where he can get the most ***stardom***

*These are not necessarily my beliefs; just answering questions.*
How can they justify this killing as self defense even if he did verbally abuse her and her own attorney said it was emotional abuse.
There is a history of women being able to claim battered spouse syndrome and that they "just snapped", leading to the murder of their abuser. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility for them to claim that she wanted to make sure he never hurt her or anyone again.

The thing that is so rare in this case we know exactly what Travis was doing minutes before his death. We see he is simply taking a shower minding his own business. How is that threatening? He was the one vulnerable. He had no weapon, naked, and unable to get away from the hacking slashing murderess who was pulling his body all around within two minutes after the final photo.
The defense may claim that just because he was naked doesn't mean he wasn't threatening. Just because he's sitting in a tub one moment doesn't mean he could have become enraged at something and snapped the next moment. He looked like a fairly big/muscular dude that could have easily hurt someone if he chose to. Whether or not this was in his character, I cannot say. Just what could be said to support the defense narrative.

There isnt anything plausable about how and when she killed him other than she knew she had lost control over her victim and got rid of him.
This is where the defense will have to work some magic. There are a lot of questions that are going to be hard to answer - like the three different stories and the lies.

Phone sex sure isnt a form of abuse. Many couples partake in it and its just what consenting adults decide they want to do. She darn sure didnt have to tape them so she could replay them over and over again if they were so offensive to her. Imo she taped them so she could get off by getting to hear them again.
I'm not sure anyone has claimed it's a form of abuse. However, if the victim was so concerned about her and tried to get her out of his life so much... Why was he still sexting her and having phone sex with her? That's the part of the narrative that doesn't add up for me.

The bottom line is she is saying this is self defense but yet she has a gun and knife while in the bathroom and she murdered him three different ways. What logical person is going to believe that is normal or self defense?
One who will buy a story about self-defense and that she wanted to do what was necessary to keep herself from getting hurt again.

I know this if my abusive ex husband had told me he wanted me out of his life instead of the other way around he wouldn't have to say it twice......that would the last thing I would do is come back to him and stalk him. The most relief a truly abused victim has is when the abuser finally leaves them to hell alone.
And that is how you, one person, would react.

IUPG is a judicial standard and only pretains to the jurors that sits on her case. Here we do not have to presume or assume anything much less innocence.
This is true, but it undermines the whole point of the trial or even discussing it. If you're going to assume one party is responsible from the beginning and nothing will change this, why even participate? I was under the impression that determining the entire truth was more the idea here.

She is guilty of cold blooded murder against this young man that deserved so much better, imo.

And you are very much entitled to your opinion. :)

And by Jodi's own admission we know she knew his garage access code. The same code, according to Detective Flores supplemental report, Travis' friends used to gain access to his house the night they discovered his body.

With the code alone apparently one could gain access to the house.

And why was Gus trying repeatedly to contact the State Prosecutor?

No idea, but better to call the prosecutor than call a tabloid or TMZ or whatever some potential witnesses (in other cases) do. He may be a crackpot offering no value and neither side may want him, but better to go to the state's office.

Not sure if this is true or when it happened but Nancy Grace is reporting on her FB page that Jodi offered to plead guilty to second degree murder and the State said no.

lol Just send me good vibes that I get a seat! But from last time it wasn't hard at all to get in. I'll be able to get there during the lunch break on Wed. so I'll line up if I need to.

If you or anyone has anything you'd like me to specifically check out or ask Beth or anyone else, let me know. If I get up the nerve I'm gonna talk to Troy Hayden...the reporter who did the piece on Jodi in the jail. Saw him on Greta last night and my pissed offness at him kind of calmed down. Oh! And heard Nancy Grace is here now and is doing a "jail visit" herself. Maybe she did that today.

KatieCoolady,

Glad you will be in attendance on Wed. Check to see if they are holding court on Friday. I thought they take long weekends and do not have court on Fridays.

Hey if a couple is engaging in naughty consensual behavior, including taping phone sex, that's their business. She should own that and woman up. Same with the pictures and the specific sexual positions and the personal lube and whatever else... It ticks me off that there's still a mindset that men are the only sex obsessed beings and women are always delicate passive sex objects.
I think she was far more experienced than he was and I imagine she played up an innocent, virginal act when she first met him because he was a Mormon looking for a good wife. They were both exploring new boundaries and each other's too. But it's the stale old attitude that women can't be the dominant sexual partner and heaven forbid they would initiate or enjoy nontraditional sexual behavior.
So the phone sex and the photos she seemingly initiated and enjoyed are now going to be twisted as his deviant perversion and some folks will eat that right up. :furious:

OK....where are all these things being pulled out of??? "He let her in"????
Do you think she broke into his place and he just went along with it?

"He showered with her"????
Granted, I misphrased it. He showered in front of her; potentially with her.

"Took nude photo's with her"??? He wasn't in ANY of the photo's "with" her....the shower ones even SHE said he wouldn't have liked, AND it looked like he didn't even know she was there for a good number of them.
Yes, he took nude photos "with" her. They were both involved in the process, unless you think she took those pictures of herself and all her naughty bits perfectly with a self-timer and no apparent tripod. If a self-timer was used, as well, it should show up in the EXIF data and surely the prosecution would have mentioned this.

This entire day has been a waste.

I dont think so. A lot of testimony was entered today. It was one of Juan's best days and every moment was riveting to me.

They are this far along already and more testimony will be heard after the jury is dismissed for the day tomorrow and before court starts.

Beth had already said the hearing today wouldnt last long.

:floorlaugh: I think it lasted way longer than Nurmi expected it would though.

I really think he thought he could just accuse Juan and that would be it. Shows he is not an attorney who thinks on his feet.
