NG announced tonight that Jodi's attorney stated Jodi would plead guilty to second degree murder. The prosecution wasn't interested.

My question is did anyone hear of this before NG tonight?

They said Travis would come out of his bedroom and find her asleep on the sofa where she had sneaked in.

She really is bizarre......its like some horror film.

Like a horror film.....exactly.

And there is some record of the tire slashing. While no official police report was filed (because Travis and Lisa waited hours with no response) an incident report was filed with the caller's name, address and the reason necessitating law enforcement.

Not that it points directly to Arias obviously...but I was still surprised to see it mentioned in Flores' supplemental report. (That thing is a gold mine for info!)

I don't see how that will have any bearing.

Defense:
Was she charged?

Why did Marcia Clarke become a superstar, she lost the OJ case?

Why did Marcia Clarke become a superstar, she lost the OJ case?

Because she was good at it.
Or
Because she got a makeover... or several.

Isnt this when she forged the letters she tried to say were written by Travis. Seems like I remember in the hearing they had a handwriting expert testify that they were forged and that is when she told the Judge she was in over her head.
Yes but bear in mind the letters were submitted to the State in June of 2010. They bickered back and forth for over a year with both sides having their handwriting experts examine them and known articles of both Jodi's and Travis' handwriting.

August 2011 she motions the court to represent herself...and just a week later the prosecution deems the letters forgeries, defense handwriting expert testifies, voila! her counsel is reinstated, and the defense rescinds its objection to the State's motion to preclude the letters. Coincidences abound, eh?

Mimi was very clear with Travis (according to her sworn testimony) that she was not interested romantically in Travis, told him so, and said they would only be friends. When Travis invited her to Cancun before she accepted she again made sure he understood there was nothing romantic about her going and she would only go as a friend, nothing more.

Travis may have continued to harbor feelings for Mimi, but they were not dating, she was not interested in him romantically, and that's the sworn testimony. Anything else is pure speculation...fiction.

Mimi's testimony was something I could relate to from experience. She stressed that Travis understood how she felt and he was going to respect it. That's enough for me. Mimi was, IMO, totally credible and is a lovely young lady.

I think Jodi really should have just gone with some sort of insanity defense. She easily could have gotten an insanity verdict.

All she had to do was get on the stand in her soft calm voice while calmly explaining in graphic detail how she stabbed him 20+ times repeatedly to try to not make him suffer, and when that did not work then she knew to slice his throat and to really make sure he would not suffer anymore she risked getting caught and fired her weapon all for his benefit.

Then, she would break out in song and not stop singing until the bailiffs drag her away.

Would have been a slam-dunk defense.

Seriously though....an insanity defense seems like it would be a valid defense for her. Something is wrong with her.

I am praying with you, this could be the best thing for trial watchers since that kid flipped off Jeff Ashton during CA.

Haha, I forgot about that! :) I think he got to spend a weekend over at Casey's place, didn't he?

I wasn't claiming it would. There were many, many folks here who questioned if someone slashed his tires why he didn't call the police - as oceanblueeyes too well knows. :) But he did.

They dont have to when she is facing the death penalty. Scott Dyleski was doing internet fraud too and it was brought out in his trial but never charged him.......he is doing LWOP.

But the jury certainly can consider it since its in from the witness stand.

And I think they will.

IMO

I wonder if anyone on the jury wears glasses? JA is on at least the 3rd pair of different glasses today during this trial. I highly doubt these are prescription. Speaking as an eyeglass wearer myself: I end up paying at least $300 for basic, non-designer frames + non-glare prescription lenses, even shopping the so-called "$99 sales" and with very good vision insurance. Because of cost, I wear the same ONE pair for at least 2-3 years. And I make a lot more than a currently unemployed waitress. Considering vision prescriptions last 2 years (at least where I live they do), I would think around 2 years is pretty average for most people to buy new glasses, if not longer. Non-prescription glasses can be bought very cheap though (and subliminally reiterates her fake persona).

In other words, this whole pretending-her-murder-trial-is-a-fashion-show is not going to go over well with jury at all IMO. Even if they stop this charade now, the damage is probably already done on that front. Especially if there is at least one eyeglass wearer on the jury...I would think we are more prone to noticing, since we buy & wear them also...

Hold up. I'm just now listening to the opening statements. Jodi and DB decided after Jodi got back from the PPL convention (where she met Travis) that it wasn't working out for them as a couple and DB moved into another room in the house they shared?!?!? Say what? Am I the only one that sees that as a huge BS statement?
