January 29, 2013 THE DEFENCE CASE-IN-CHIEF

Nurmi calls his first witness: GUS SEARCY

PART 3

--Gus says he would see her at the regional event and the national event. Met with him 4-5 times and twice he met with her personally.
--Gus is asked if he had ever seen Jodi dress inappropriately. Jodi was always dressed very conservative, very professional, long sleeves, feminine, turtleneck sweaters.
--Was Jodi ever sexually inappropriate in her conduct? Martinez objects but the objection is sustained. Gus helps people dress for success/prefessional business.
--Gus looks at people's dress when he is mentoring them. He never found Jodi to be overly flirtatious. Gus observed Jodi's behavior to be professional.
--re: personal level meetings. Gus was in Las Vegas at a local business briefing. Gus says that Jodi had called her and was very upset because her and Travis has had a fight.

Martinez objects--hearsay. Counsel are asked to approach the bench.

So, why is it so incredulous that the defense is leading up to what it takes to get to one of these events, what the event is, and why it means so much to be invited to one?

Hi, Moocow. You mean "incredible," not "incredulous." This is not building towards anything; it's no more significant than learning about the seating arrangement at the event in which O.J. first met his victim.

What a clown show! One can't do his job and ask a direct question and get to the point and the other can't shut the heck up!

She was always dressed very feminine?

High sleeves, long necks, jeans, turtle-neck kinda sweater things?

Creepy!!!!!!

Notice much, Gus?

In AZ?

JA's mom stares down the jury

I'm impressed by her "high neck long sleeved" look that she usually sported.

Is she wearing one of those rings in this picture? It does not look like a CTR ring!

So...Arias was a good, conservative girl...until she met Travis. Puleeze......

who is the dark-haired woman in the front row that looks like Elvira?

Next to the bald guy?

If that's who you're referring to, it's one of Travis' sister.

(I'm having trouble picturing Elvira though)

I'm dying to know what the jury thinks about this guy. I mean, some of us are biased after watching his performance yesterday, but the jury isn't.

And I REALLY wished the judge could make a decision without having 50 sidebars.

I hope the jury doesn't think too poorly of Gus as Travis was also in Pre Paid Legal and went to the conventions/company trips.

IMO Gus is behaving way better today than yesterday.

Full if himself,yes.
Yesterday he was a pompous twit

Is he going to try to make the point that Travis didn't dress appropriately? Where is he going with this?

Dressing conservative has nothing to do with who you are on the inside or whether you are provocative. Librarian's dress conservative as well..then...oh wait, is that in the movies?
