That's just great! I have someone who called and invited themselves over tomorrow. Told them I was watching the trial and it went totally over their head.

Sorry to "bunch" yes I said "most of us posters" my apologies to those who want to be excluded. MO from what I've heard so far he "played" JA by dating other women, keeping her secret etc. this is emotionally toying with her and IMO somewhat emotionally abusive.

HAVING said that, nothing shows SD yet IMO and I still feel she should pay for her actions! TA was brutally murdered, and nothing TA has done yet proves she should get off on SD.

IMO, based on the ruthless way in which Travis was murdered, jodi arias' cool demeanor after the murder, her changing stories, her demeanor in court and witness statements, jodi arias is a frightening sociopath possible psychopath. Psychopaths and sociopaths aren't "played". They do the playing.

Travis Alexander was a virginal Mormon before he met jodi, according to everything we know thus far. jodi was not. IMO, she tried every trick she could think of to snare this man who she felt would pull her out of her station in life to a better one. When the sweet, Mormon convert act didn't work, she used sex. Which, on a 30 year old virgin, worked.

Sociopaths often use sex as a means of manipulation. It's not about enjoyment, usually. It's a tool.

Travis told this woman that he was not serious and did not want a committed relationship. Perhaps he didn't tell her about women he dated after that but so what? That would not have been her business, even though he continued to have sex with her. If they broke up, he owes her nothing.

The fact that she chose to continue to engage in sex with Travis after they broke up or that he, ashamed of his sexual activity and embarrassed that he continued to have sex with a woman his friends did not approve of, is NOT emotional abuse. And I think to call it that is a slap in the face to those who have actually been emotionally abused.

In fact, it's not even "playing."

Is it wrong of me to ask my Uncle to go into town and pick me up some food because I don't want to miss the rest of todays testimony?

Motion granted!! ;)

Who is most of? Ironically many on this board who have voiced their own experiences of domestic violence greatly disbelieve Jodi's account.

Emotional abuse isn't calling someone a name once or twice in anger. It is a systematic, lengthy process of tearing apart someone's self-esteem that often utilizes control, verbal abuse, manipulation, blackmail, coercion, stalking, threats, etc.

MOO

I apologized for statement including "most posters".

I respectfully disagree with your definition of emotional abuse. Here is a link that describes emotion abuse AMONG many other ways as... "

"Withholding includes refusing to listen, refusing to communicate, and emotionally withdrawing as punishment. This is sometimes called the “silent treatment.”

"Minimizing is a less extreme form of denial. When minimizing, the abuser may not deny that a particular event occurred, but they question the recipient’s emotional experience or reaction to an event. Statements such as “You’re too sensitive,” “You’re exaggerating,” or “You’re blowing this out of proportion” all suggest that the recipient’s emotions and perceptions are faulty and not to be trusted.
Trivializing, which occurs when the abuser suggests that what you have done or communicated is inconsequential or unimportant, is a more subtle form of minimizing.
Denying and minimizing can be particularly damaging. In addition to lowering self-esteem and creating conflict, the invalidation of reality, feelings, and experiences can eventually lead you to question and mistrust your own perceptions and emotional experience."

Emotional Abuse takes many many forms.

AGAIN I am in no way saying TA did anything to warrant his horrible death. My MOO he wasn't very nice in the way he treated JA and TA, as this link shows he very well might not have known he was hurting her emotionally!

He watched all the court proceedings yesterday morning.

Nope. Apparently she feels that is appropriate court attire.

She wouldn't be allowed in court dressed like that where I live.

This witness was watching tv up until this morning.

i've been a witness in court and nobody told me what to do UNTIL i got to court. then, if you're even seen talking to another witness--like in the hallway or somewhere, you can get in trouble. so i don't know if witnesses are told not to discuss the case before the trial begins. i was not told that.

Pass the eye bleach, please. Why doesn't the court officer tell her to leave or keep her shirt on?

Judge Judy would NEVER have allowed this wardrobe choice!!!!!:furious:

I'm not driving at anything.

Posters were asking if you were still with us when Jodi's ex was giving evidence. I didn't see you answer.

You seem more impartial than a lot of us, I was sincerly interested in your take on it, as you have been commenting on other witnesseses today, (like everyone else has) I just am interested to get your take on it. Nothing nefarious. :)
Honest.
Oh, I thought you were implying I was on her side or something.

I think his testimony was fairly damning to the defense, but I don't think it can't be mitigated with careful work and the right questions. Not that it's likely to happen after seeing the DT in action... I think the most important thing gathered is the gas cans. That could go to show premeditation. I'm not sure how the defense will try to mitigate that.

I didn't see my name mentioned, or I would have responded.

He watched all the court proceedings yesterday morning.
yeah, but wasn't that prior to his admonishment? So how can they hold that against him?
