I know you guys hate when T's behavior is singled out. But 2 weeks ago I told my male coworker (who is the same age as Travis) about this case, the stalking, the crazy, the sex, and then the murder and it was HIS opinion (his, NOT mine), that if a guy plays with "crazy/obsessive" then something bad is gonna happen. Not usually murder of course, but it can and does happen and my male coworker saw the "gray area" of Travis continuing to have sex with someone who was stalker/obsessive. Just throwing it out there cause this is coming from a straight 33 yr old dude who never heard of this murder and has no idea who any of these people are and no bias one way or the other.

So...is this to say that we should take the opinion of your 33 year old male co-worker over the evidence of the photos? I'm gonna call foul on that one!

I respectfully disagree. Just having watched Chris Huges' testimony, it seems clear they are grasping and have nothing to show there was tampering. Also, watching how the prosecution allowed so much hearsay evidence in and failed to object when he could on grounds of relevance, the state is not afraid and just let the defense get on with it. The state had nothing to worry about.

Also, as to Chris Hughes, he seemed credible to me. I can imagine him calling a defense witness he knew, asking what it was about and warning them to be careful of a sleazy defense attorney. But, IMO, that's not witness tampering.

I agree it doesn't rise to the level of witness tampering. And I agree that Chris Hughes seems credible every time I've heard him speak. I did not catch his testimony today. I agree the State has nothing to worry about -- I'm more concerned about Chris getting in trouble.

I think Chris was motivated by nothing more than strong feelings about the murder of his friend and a desire to see justice done.

Frankly I'm surprised the defense doesn't just throw their arms up and say, "yeah...we got nuttin." They know their client is not only guilty but deserves a 1st degree murder conviction. The only thing they can do is try to save her life. This defense portion is a dance until the penalty phase.

Matt is another ex lover, who is claiming online to know about some abuse.

Yeah he's trying to sidesmarm this in to some kind of besmirchage of Chris Hughes but I think he's really trying to protect himself for some reason.

My guess, after watching this trial, is that the defense is actually setting up their poor defense for an appeal. I think they just want out of it. There is no way they can win and I can't imagine that they don't see it. All of this is funny until the realization hits that this could all end very badly.

I think it pretty unlikely she'd win an appeal for ineffective assistance of counsel. There are literally convictions that have been upheld when the trial attorney has fallen asleep!

He may not be a very good attorney (imo he doesn't have much to work with) but there are years worth of motions, responses, subpoenas etcetera to prove he has done his job effectively insomuch as providing her with adequate defense representation by legal standards. MOO
