Of course this is nothing more than my own personal opinion as is yours expressed above, but I respectfully disagree with today's testimony being even a teensy, tiny bit positive for the DT..In fact I strongly believe just the opposite in that every single point or issue brought forth today by this DT, if beneficial to anyone it was purely for the Prosecution..IOW the exact opposite of the desired effect that the DT is working toward(or better yet failing to work toward IMO strictly due to what/who they have to work with, JA)

Lisa's testimony IMO only further humanized Travis, only further supported that JA was a stalker, was aggressive&threatening, and caused extreme damage out of anger and jealousy.. Lisa not only was able to successfully establish this through Travis, what Travis shared with her, or through Travis' varying emotions regarding JA's revenge tactics..BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY AND MOST DAMNING TO JODI WAS THAT LISA, HERSELF COULD TESTIFY TO HER PERSONAL EXPERIENCE OF SEEING, WITNESSING, AND FIRST HAND DEALING WITH JODI'S EXTREME AGGRESSIVE AND VENGEFUL ACTIONS/BEHAVIORS!..IMO those points made today through this witness are in no way, shape, or form beneficial to the DT..JUST the OPPOSITE THEY WERE FURTHER BENEFICIAL FOR THE PROSECUTION.

Moving on to Desiree's testimony of which I posted earlier at length about just how embarassingly bleak the DT case became in seeing this witness being subpoenaed to the stand today.. IMO absolutely cringe worthy embarrassing to see an at the time of the incident, 13yo kid who is completely unrelated or tied to either the victim or defendant and whose testimony was her extremely vaque recollection of her as a KID overhearing an ADULTS discussion and as a KID interpretating ONE COMMENT she said was "over the top", yet zero, zilch, nil memory of what ONE COMMENT was made.. WoW!...just WoW at what these poor DT have to work with..I mean shockingly WoW as in there is not even anything that holds even a drop of water that even begins to support their claim of Travis having been abusive to Jodi..NOTHING!

Today ending with the jurors questions IMO just absolutely summed it up perfectly.. they went straight to the heart of today's testimony with the exact points of importance that the DT so very badly wanted and hoped that the jury would not notice or feel were of importance...WRONG again DT! ..all in all a day that backfired with any points being made were racked up once again for the Pros rather than the DT.

AGAIN JMO, THO!

ITA! I was going to post a similar response to the same post you quoted. I respectfully disagree with that post.

The thing that strikes me is that TA was supposedly upset (per the witnesses) BUT, he did not: slash anyone's tires, take secret photos of anyone, show up uninvited and unannounced in anyone's house by sneaking in, stab anyone 29 times, slit anyone's throat or shot anyone in the face.

Yet, we are supposed to believe he was so angered by JA dropping his new camera that he went from being wet and naked to so abusive that JA felt she had to stab him, cut his throat AND shoot him to "protect herself" (and that occurred in seconds??)? Yeah right.

To me, all the DT is showing that despite the fact TA may have been angry (which is a natural response-everyone gets angry) for various reasons at various times, he was never violent/abusive! JA was the violent one, period.

LOL.....don't know how this post got quoted.
I'm off to bed. Thanks for an interesting chat, sleuthers.

BBM

But she didn't just 'snap.' She stole the gun weeks earlier, and did a lot of preplanning. No snapping, imo.

She did not realize she was spinning out of control, imo. In fact, she probably thought she was finally in complete control of the situation. JMO

BBM...This is where I conclude (IMO) that she was different than a " normal " person.

I've had a few heartbreaks myself. One in particular was hard on me. I worked a lot and didn't have the time to socialize like him and his friends. I was jealous with a capital "J". Thank God there were no "texts" to look through or PCs :what:. I would have really made myself crazy (LOL).:seeya:

Bleached hair. Fake boobies were not so prevalent at that time so I was self conscious. Super shy etc etc etc........

HOWEVER, never once did it enter my mind to slash tires... stalk......call constantly....or even think about killing him:what:

Come on......driving with so much time to think about what she was doing. In that part of the States there are some real desolate areas. It is not like she had to concentrate around traffic. That shows determination.

I vote guilty as charged:jail:

My Day in Court Part 2:

So...the deputy on and off all afternoon kept coming out saying "I'm trying to find you girls two seats". And then after the break he pulled us in (just as I was talking to my friend Michael Keifer, a journalist covering this for the local paper and he was trying to get me a way to get in). We didn't sit together (ironically her name is katie!) but we both got in.

The environment in there is so freaking intense I can't tell you. I felt my anxiety level go up the minute I sat down. It is such an intense vibe in there. Saw Lisa for like one second of testimony and all the other final witnesses for the day.

I made a bunch of notes so here goes:

The size of the courtroom is like a huge ballroom you might find yourself in for a big wedding reception. I can't impress how LARGE it is. Jodi is WAY far away from the jury. I could barely see her today with my view.

The jury is attentive, many taking notes. I'm fixated on this one female juror in the front, 30 something, tri color hair, she's paying such detailed attention. I keep thinking she could be foreperson. She's WAY in to everything.

Tanisha's husband holds his arm around her waist every time she stands. Looks like he's literally holding her up. good man. He looks much younger in person than on tv.

On Jane Valez Mitchell yesterday an older female friend of Travis was on as a guest. I met her today When the younger sister Desiree 's name was called as a witness, she sharply turned around looking at the person behind her with a long long WTF type stare.

All of Travis ' family are in suits and dresses. Very dressed up.

Nurmi takes forever to get to a point.

I once again talked to their Victim Advocate and she handed me her card saying "tell them tomorow you're with me and you can get in". :great: It was after I asked her if she'd slip a card to the family for me tomorrow. Which I will do. And I will mention the WS community on my card to just so you know.

At the end of court, Juan walked up to the family, checked in with them, he said "are we good?" and they nodded. I'm glad I saw that.

I think that's it for now. I'm going back early tomorrow. I will get in for sure and can stay for the morning (have to work in the afternoon).

I'm thinking tomorrow will be a BIG day. Just a hunch.

Now gonna read some posts and CRASH. :seeya:

Hi Katie,
Thank you so much! I had asked you to let us know anything you saw or heard and your posts are great. I am so glad you will be there this morning. I am interested in that female juror and what her thoughts are. I have a feeling today is the day for Jodie. I think the defense will work it for all they have throughout the day, dragging out her lies and leaving it with the jury for their long break. For me, she could jump through hoops and weave tales forever and it would do no good. JMO. Thanks again! I bet you will hate going to work this afternoon! Then again, you may need a good break!

On that tape of today's trial I noticed a few minutes before the stalking question how JA gets increasingly weepy when Lisa talks about TA wanting to marry her.
Starting about the 23:45 mark and continuing for the next few minutes, after the attorneys are at sidebar, and the juror questions are asked.

It was TigerBalm's link on previous page...

You accidentally linked the opening statements

Personally, I don't see her getting weepy but here is the correct link:

I keep going back to the "letters" that have been in contention as being "almost certainly" or "forged."

They were handwritten letters, supposedly sent by Travis to Jodi. Somehow, in 2010, "somebody" Jodi will not name, scanned and sent those letters to somebody (not sure, but I'm thinking Nurmi or another defense attorney).

The prosecution asked for the originals letters and never got them.

This is a major reason I believe they won't ever show up at trial. Copies of originals can easily be manipulated. Originals can be tested for fingerprints and DNA. The paper the originals are written on can be traced to a source.

Would paper consistent with paper found in Travis house be located? Were the letters written on paper consistent with that sold to inmates in jail?

Even if experts looked at the copies and concluded they COULD have been written by Travis, there is nothing to back up that they ABSOLUTELY were written by him.

Handwriting analysis demands original be compared to original. At least one reason has to do with the amount of pressure to paper was exerted in certain areas of the writing.

If there is anyone on board who knows more about handwriting analysis? I would love to hear more about this topic.

The fact that Jodi has refused to divulge the source of the copies or present the originals to the court tells me that they were not written by Travis.

:nono: If I may refresh your recollection:

Juan Martinez: I'm gonna object to this portion of him reading this, clearly these letters have been shown to be forged by the defendant and the fact that he's reading them is inappropriate.

Direct to the above statement by JM: http://youtu.be/2QodsaSRoDg?t=17m22s
Testimony regarding the letters starts here: http://youtu.be/2QodsaSRoDg?t=11m32s

This just shows what a snake Nurmi really is.:furious: I think he was hoping that at least one or two jurors would break their oath and watch the hearing and that is why he wants these forged letters out.

IMO

What young person in today's time even writes handwritten letters anymore when he could have done it by other means?

I dont know why Jodi thought the court would fall for this but then she really thinks everyone is going to gobble up what she says.

Oh just one last thought. I heard Nancy Grace came in to court for just a very few minutes at the end of the day then popped back out. I missed her (please no rotten tomatoes...I will always love Nancy for personal reasons). I saw her though in her "studio" and took a picture of her from the back through the big picture window on the truck. :seeya:

Nitenite all...

PS. Thanks to all of you for caring I went to court today and "being there" with me. As much as this interests me, it also takes a lot out of me emotionally and energy wise. So it's good when you make me feel like it's a worthwhile endeavor. lots of love....

Thanks for your insights. I went to the prelims for the Andrea Sniederman case here in Atlanta, and know what you mean about the atmosphere when you walk in. My overwhelming feeling when I was there, sitting next to a friend of HERS actually, that I was inserting myself into something private. I felt the overwhelming pain for EVERYONE in that courtroom who had been affected by her involvement with Hemy killing Rusty.

And get ready for when that trial starts! (There is a thread here at WS for her) If you haven't seen Andrea Sniederman, put it on your calendar as there were some fireworks when she was on the stand during her co-conspirators trial (Hemy Neuman trial...who was convicted). It was UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Im so sad you guys.

I was told yesterday at my office that I am being moved out of my office to the front reception area to answer phones as well as what I do now. We're cutting back unfortunatley, but at least I still have a job!!

Yall know what that means right?

I wont be able to watch the trial anymore. :( What am I going to do? I knew something like this was going to happen, it was just to good to be true! :(

So, now more than ever I will rely on everyones posts. I will be going through withdrawls, and I ll have a few panic attacks, but as long as I have you guys I think I might be able to pull through! ;)

I added that specifically to wonder aloud if that was the case with the brother and sister team. I hope that was not the case.

Didn't we hear, somewhere, that Travis had an issue with one of his roommates and the roommate left after only being there a few months? Could this man have been that roommate? jmo

Have lost my mind? I can't find a thread for today. Maybe I need to finish my cup of tea and then look LOL

Don't forget those YouTube videos that show up in the evening, Snoopy1. They are great when I'm away for the day and I spend the evening watching them. Plus the updates and Katiecoolady with her reports from court. Lots to read when you get home. lol

I think if he was, Juan would have brought that up as him having an ax to grind.

Thank you so much for giving us the great information from you observations while in and out of the courtroom. Its almost like I there as well. It helps to get a better picture of what is going on. It lets me know how the jury is doing with the trial etc.
I just didnt feel the thanks button was enough. I really appreciate what your doing.
