Am I remembering right that this trial was projected to wrap up early in April? Two whole months of listening to witnesses like the defense put on yesterday? I don't know if I won't go mad. Even a couple of weeks sounds like it might be dicey to my mental health.

Could they really call that many witnesses? Or is that projection factoring for time for the jury to deliberate?

Its strange. We have been in the defense case this week but I cant remember a thing that has really helped JA and can only remember the WOW moments when Juan revealed more evidence through the DTs witnesses.

IMO

I agree. The most they got was the creepy brother and sister to say Travis and Jodi had an arguement after creepy brother went through Jodi's backpack. Then everything was fine half an hour later and everyone was laughing and joking again. *thud*

It's probably been said already but I will bet the farm the same knife used to slash tires is the one used to murder Travis.

I mentioned that early on........I still believe it. JA carried a knife with her ..maybe in her purse or pocket..........it was the same knife she used to slash the tires over and over again.

I think that is what the jury will also believe too.

IMO

Some said Desiree would have been 13 or so during the trips she and Dan took with Travis and the defendant, not true.

Direct from Willmott:
Q: Ah I wanna talk to you about um.. ah a little bit more about the trips.
A: Okay

Q: Ah do you remember when Grand Canyon and Sedona when that trip was?
A: I think it was .. it was in the summer time around June or so .. after I graduated

Q: After you graduated June of 2007, is that the year
A: Yes

I see this more of a personal issue between the brother and sister towards Travis. Mormons are suppose to judge themselves and judging is suppose to come by way of God and how they repent from what I understand from the testimony during this trial. If anything else this trial has given many a view of Mormons that the average person would never have had. They are a very tight, supportive, respectful group and appear to help one another out. I do not feel this has hurt the Mormon community at all by calling attention to them. jmo

Thank you LambChop! That is good to hear!

What was the prosecutor trying to do when he pulled that shock tactic with the photo? It seemed he was trying to elicit Miss Lisa's opinion of whether Travis "deserved" what happened to him, but she never gave even a whiff of vindictiveness. Other than showboating, why did he do that?
I don't understand his combativeness with witnesses who are perfectly decent, normal, ordinary people who were dragged into this mess by Jodi Arias, and who are being forced to disclose intimate details about their lives on a national broadcast.
I don't understand why he's hellbent on making them feel so horrible. They did nothing wrong.
This guy is making Good Ol' Gus seem sympathetic.

Ok , this is ONLY a thought. But I did think Juan got kind of loud with Lisa yesterday. It was only after that I realized why he may have done that. I believe he got louder during the parts do the cross examination which could be embarrassing to Lisa.......I think he was trying to draw the attention to himself and away from this wonderful young woman caught in a very embarrassing and upsetting situation having to answer questions like that. She is really a class act! And he is awesome!

The defense left the door wide open for tire slashing story, and stalking behaviors. Are the jurors ever going to hear about it?

Is she the dog sitter? I think it is very telling, if it's true as stated that Travis left instructions in his will about the dog. Who thinks when making out your will at such a young age that your animal will survive you???? jmo

She's his ex-gf from cali, I believe.

The only one's shocked seeing the picture were Travis' family. They did not know the photo was coming and were not prepared. Defense knew it was there, it was lying on the desk out in the open while JM was asking Lisa his final questions. You can see the picture in the replay videos. What upset defense was the reaction from the family and their fear it would cause some juror to be sympathetic with the family and color their opinion during deliberations. I think it is way too late for that. That picture was already in evidence and seen by the jury.

The juror's can see Travis' family suffering just by looking at them during the whole court procedure. In contrast they can also see how Jodi's family thinks some of the witness testimonys are something to be laughed about. Lisa did not react in a negative way because she knew what was coming and she knew it was not personal. jmo

Note: old article

8/1/11: FBI Profiler reacts to local cases

FBI profiler Candice DeLong ... says, there is a definite distinction between male and female killers. "When women kill, it's generally for different reasons and it's a different style than when men kill," DeLong says.

"Women are more methodical, their crimes are more premeditated. They generally kill more quickly, the murder has a purpose and the purpose is to get rid of that person." ...

"I would love to hear her explanation of how those photographs of them intimately engaged were so closely time stamped. It'll be fascinating to hear what her explanation, or her attorney's explanation of that is," DeLong says. ...

I have a question. The female attorney yesterday for the Defense seemed so out of it, she continuously mixed up dates, shuffled papers, and poor Lisa had to correct her several times, and she didn't seem to have a game plan. She especially looked bad as compared to Juan who is so quick on his feet and asks great questions.

Is she a really bad attorney?

I was under the impression That they knew the picture was coming by him asking Travis's family if They were ok? Maybe I misread Katie's post?

Look at her hot mess of a client! Jodi didn't exactly leave much meat on the bone for her to work with. IMO

And yet why is it the defense struggles with its questions, fumbles their papers etc. They have had years to prepare and these are their witnesses to boot. IMO it is much harder watching the woman DA than it is watching Nurmi.

Willmott is all over the place and doesn't seem to know how to ask a pertinent question. Hard to believe she is death penalty qualified.
Nurmi is just dead boring. I have trouble staying awake when he is questioning a witness. JMO

She's DP qualified if that helps.

Me neither. I have to think that the defense knew they ran the risk of a particular witness backfiring on them like the testimony about the gas cans and yet they opted to call him. Is this the best they could do to try to show Jodi was abused and Travis was an abuser?

Do you think the state was insistent on the death penalty when they first charged Jodi? I am wondering if the defense wouldn't have pleaded to 1st degree LWOP just to keep her alive.

Good morning, my imaginary friends!! :)

Tulessa, what is your opinion of this prosecutor? Having had to deal with this type of situation yourself recently do you think he is too harsh on the witnesses???
