The Strange Saga Of How We Fixed Websleuths. Yes, this is all true.

OH DEAR.

Ok, I really meant for the biggest part of my post to be kinda funny. Denied Visas, scary check cashing place, 50 pounds of silver dollars, bank refusing my money, denied Visa again,...looking back on it this part makes me laugh.

The only reason I told you all anything about dad was because I wanted you to know why it took me so long to get WS back up.

I'll make a deal with you. If I am every desperate and I need to pay for the server I'll ask you all but only if I am down and out. Deal? Ok good.

Now, those "fraudulant" Visa claims have lowered my self esteem. I feel like such a FRAUD. LOL. Good Lord. Now, it's funny. Yesterday, it wasn't.

It was funny in that "If I don't laugh, I'll cry" sort of way....

But now I have AC/DC on the brain

Whiskey, gin and brandy
With a glass I'm pretty handy
I'm trying to walk a straight line
On sour mash and cheap wine
So join me for a drink boys
We're gonna make a big noise
So don't worry about tomorrow
Take it today
Forget about the tip
We'll get hell to pay
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me

Deal, we just love it here so much and would do anything to help.

P.S. ~ I forgot to say in my earlier post, MAJOR KUDOS to VBulletin guy!!!!!!!!! :woohoo:

P.S.S. ~ Just had a thought. Have you ever though about selling WS tee shirts? Has that been done? I know I would get one and they could turn a profit.

Dear Tricia,

I don't believe anyone who's a regular here would think your post was a "sob story" in search of donations. You were sharing your ordeal, as we all do here from time to time. (And what an ordeal!)

Nonetheless, if you change your mind about donations, please let me know.

I always think of WS as a very desirable, private dinner party to which I am very fortunate to be invited. Were it a physical dinner party, I would bring at least a bottle of wine.

And I would be happy to do at least that much here.

Nova

Agreed, Tricia even though I'm new here. The thought that you were asking for money or, sympathy for that matter, never crossed my mind. Add me to the list of those who would gladly give a little to keep this great site going.

I wanted to add more but the limit is 20..

Tricia, my word, talking about going above and beyond! Though, I must admit, I am so grateful. I can understand that you are not interested in ongoing donations... but what about a one time deal? Just to defray the costs of the software?

I'm wishing good Karma, not just to your tech guy, but to you and your son, too. :blowkiss:

Tricia,

You are truly one of the kindest people I have had the pleasure of crossing paths with. I haven't been around here long, but the folks I've met on here are one of a kind, salt of the earth. You have, from the goodness of your heart, created and nurtured such a great group. Thanks for making it possible.

I wish you the best for you and your family to get through this tough time with the loss of your dad. :)

Um... your husband chose to go out of town 4 days after your Dad passed?? You may be a better woman than I, but this ticks me off.

Tricia you deserve a medal...and lots of hugs too. I am so sorry for the loss of your dad, and for all the headaches this situation caused. Wow, talk about someone going to the extreme. You take extra good care of us :) I am thinking of you and your family....:blowkiss: Oh...and THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

If I can fly out and stay with you I will let you smack me. Then we must drink large amounts of frozen drinks with little umbrellas ok?

That goes without saying.....

I agree... I'm on board to help out with costs... :p

I'm afraid to shut off my computer, WS may go POOF again... :o

Tricia, you cashed in how many silver dollars?? Hate to mention this but, I can't even begin to estimate how much those silver dollars might have been worth, just on the silver content alone.

Sorry about this entire experience, especially so soon after the passing of your beloved father. My sincere condolences.

Tricia, you are amazing. I am sending my prayers your way.

Hi Tricia,
I'm sincerely sorry about the passing of your dad. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Give that little boy of yours a hug. My dd will be 11 next week and she is my top priority. I was one (actually 3) of the many emails you received. Sorry I kept emailing, I was just REALLY needing a Websleuths fix. If the time ever comes, I too would be glad to donate to this forum. It's the best of the best and I love Websleuths!

I'm sorry you had such a crappy month. Thank you so much for perservering and getting things running again. I had thought about sending you an e-mail, but I figured your inbox would be flooded with messages, so I didn't and I'm glad. Take care and rest assured that the moderators here will make sure everybody behaves while you're gone.

I would never think your story Tricia as being 'a sob story'. You are one special person in my eyes. I have come to love WS as part of my daily life. I thank you very much for keeping it active for me to use.

My deepest to the loss of your father. I pray for his soul and that your family will find peace.

Your story touched me deeply. I will keep you in my prayers.

Hey dear sweet Lady Tricia: I know there were many frayed nerves with the site being down. But I personally want to say Thank You.Being that I saw the post about your Dad's passing I figured you were dealing with family Matters first. How many times in here have we heard real time comes before the net. I know with the site being down I had to look back at things. There have been many heated discussions esp. in the ANS forum.I myself am guilty. I think now I apprecaiate the posters more. And will try even harder to be nice.

Again Tricia thanks for this place.
And May God bless you and yours.:blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss:

I love this idea, Ang. This is something we would all participate in to help with costs and be durn proud to wear it too. It could bring new members and new friends and help many other people who don't know about WS but need to.

Wow Tricia,:blowkiss: what a venture and ordeal! Your story had MY head spinning! You went through so much and had the tenacity to get it done under horrible circumstances. I'm so sorry about your dad and, yes, your son definitely needs your attention.

I'm with Nova and the rest that have asked you to take in some cash to defray the cost of operating Websleuth's or the new software. I know all too well the agony of web site problems, I know what you went through. Please let us know when or if you need help, okay! Thanks again for your tremendous effort to support our habit, Tricia! You're the best and I applaud your kindness!

Tricia,

Thank you. You are one of the most amazing people I know.

Those check cashing places can be scary, can't they??? I had a good chuckle when reading about that.

Take care of yourself and your son! We will all be here for you!

Love,
tez
