The Strange Saga Of How We Fixed Websleuths. Yes, this is all true.

OH IrishMist my dear, this story is a whole book. More to it but very personal as you can understand.

My little wiener dog just brought in a dead muskrat and plopped it on my lap, looked at me like, "See how wonderful I am"?

Lord, I hope this is not a sign of how the rest of my day will be.

Perhaps you would prefer a live muskrat?

I am so sorry to hear of your personal heartache. I am glad that you let the forums go.. your focus was where it should have been with your family and they needed you most.. I am wishing only the best for you and your family and the techy guy.
and please ignore my pleadings, begging etc to help access forum.. i was in the throes of detoxing from my addiction to WS and greatly missed everyone. there is just no place like this out there in the vast web.. no place like home.
I often feel very lucky to have found WS and as if I some wrangled an ivitation to the best secret club in town..

Now I'm thinking about the song "Muskrat Love" ;)

Well I feel better. I had to call the store where my daughter works this morning, and they put me on hold for a long time. The bad part was that they kept playing John Denver's "Rocky Mountain High" in my ear!!

I've been singing the one line I know from that song ever since, and it's making me CRAZY!

Very Good Point.

I would prefer to be floating on a yaht at St. Barts but I guess I will settle for a cute little doggie bringing me dead things ;)

Oooh! Me too!

How many more silver dollars do you have? LOL

Ha! Or better yet... access to any other Visa cards that aren't yours?? :D

(((Tricia))) So sorry for your troubles. One day that story probably will be really funny.

That story is exactly why I didn't email for the first several days. I knew it had to be bad for it to go on that long with no message or anything.

But I finally had to email you b/c I would have felt so dumb if it really had been just me.

I do hope you know that you can ask for help. If a reserve fund for future issues would help or an email list of people who could pitch in quick in an emergency...I don't know, but I hate the thought of you going to the scary place when obviously so many of us could have helped. I hate the thought of you taking time from your family for our addiction!

 to the bank people and :woohoo: to the guy who helped you fix it all.

You're the best.

Hugs.

Tricia, Tricia, Tricia....God bless you, Honey. :blowkiss: :blowkiss:

Prayers and hugs to you, your brother and your sweet little boy for the loss of Dad and Grandpa.

You totally rock, Girl. Thank you for ALL the trouble you went to at a very bad time in your life.

I am so sorry about your dad, you are in my prayers along with your brother and son. I appreciate you going through all of that trouble to keep us WS junkies supplied with our fix.

Tricia , many blessings and well wishes to you and your family. You are a one of a kind angel. :blowkiss: :blowkiss:

Trisha,

So sorry about the loss of your father and all you've been through. I know you realize how many people care for you and for this website and I want to thank you personally for all the crap you have to go through for this place.

:blowkiss:

Now I'm thinking about the song "Muskrat Love" ;)

Lol, ya'll are gonna hate me after this but here goes.....

Muskrat, muskrat candlelight
Doin the town and doin it right
In the evenin
Its pretty pleasin

Muskrat susie, muskrat sam
Do the jitterbug out in muskrat land
And they shimmy
And sammys so skinny

And they whirled and they twirled and they tangoed
Singin and jingin the jango
Floatin like the heavens above
It looks like muskrat love

Nibbling on bacon, chewin on cheese
Sammy says to susie honey, would you please be my missus?
And she say yes
With her kisses

And now hes ticklin her fancy
Rubbin her toes
Muzzle to muzzle, now anything goes
As they wriggle, and sue starts to giggle

And they whirled and they twirled and they tangoed
Singin and jingin the jango
Floatin like the heavens above
It looks like muskrat love

La da da da da ...

Everytime I hear this song, it reminds me of roller skating when I was a kid...

Tricia, I too was one of the people that e-mailed you because I didn't know if you knew WS was down, once I figured out that it wasn't because I was on the locked list... I only had the address for one ex-mod, and FFJ wouldn't accept new memberships.

Your priorities were where they should be. My mother died unexpectedly 6 months ago, so I share your pain. I had to be there for my 5-year-old, when I had a hard time being there for myself! My DH went back to work after 3 days and left us across the state until the following weekend. Men can be so exasperating!:banghead:

I'm sorry to hear you had so much trouble buying the new software, but I'm so glad it wasn't hackers that brought us down. I was afraid it was the Anna Nicole forum, and I've had a hard time finding out news about the paternity case without this forum. I love WS, and I hope you are able to keep us up and running always.

That story is exactly why I didn't email for the first several days. I knew it had to be bad for it to go on that long with no message or anything.

That's exactly why I was reluctant to email... so I posted a question at Steve's truecrimeblog.... lol.

Tricia, others here have already said it way more eloquent than I ever could. I very much appreciate you sharing this whole horror story you went through with us (although I agree that someday it will be funny). Thank you so much for putting up with all that to get it fixed for us.
I was so worried about all the missing persons cases on here that might have been lost. Like all the info in the Anna Waters case, etc.. I'm so glad that everything's still here. I missed this place, too (a lot ;)), but that was my main worry.

My condolences on the loss of your father, and a whole bunch of good karma coming your and your son's way... and big hugs for you. Thank you for all you do and have done. I heard muskrat tastes like chicken, btw.

Thank you very much to all the mods and the server/vBulletin guy and anyone else who helped in getting WS back up. Y'all rock.

Sincerely,
JanetElaine

Tricia in your hour of need you thought about us . Makes me feel very small and humble , not too many people in the world like this anymore . Many many thanks with lots of loving thoughts going out to you and your familly .:blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss:

Tricia~I, too, would like to offer my condolences over the death of your dad and am really sorry you had to deal with the forums going down when/like they did. Thank you so much for all your hard work and efforts. You are greatly appreciated!

Thanks again Tricia.

Again, my condolences to you and your family.....

Before our emails I had actually thought that I was being monitored by my work (i work for a school district and our computers have filters and such) I got in a panic since I'm actually supposed to work...lol...I'm so glad it's all fixed.

Thanks for all you do
