In the case of a Houston home daycare worker, who left her charges unattended in February while she went to Target, 4 of the toddlers died in a fire started from items cooking while she was gone. Jessica Tata has 4 counts of felony murder against her and is awaiting trial next year. Part of the evidence against her is the store video of her checking out at Target during the time the fire is estimated to have started.

IF the store video of DB is evidence that she left the baby unattended, and IF a tragic accident happened during that time, she may indeed be fearful of the same type of charges against her. That would be a major motive to cover-up the accident.

BIG IFs, and all speculation on my part.
How would this prove the kids were unattended if dad hasn't left for work yet? When has it become taboo for dad's to watch the kids while mom runs to the store?

I've never drank wine from a box. Can a baby fit inside the box? How much would it weigh? I assume since wine is inside a cardboard box then there's some sort of bladder or container inside to hold it.
Maybe thats whats missing...the box of wine. Wouldn't LE have seen the box in the fridge/trash?

No, it's about the size of a six pack of beer.

wonder if lisa was with her in the video footage? Could she have left her with younger siblings and something happened? Im sure the children would have told LE by now if that happened! This is just so weird. To arrest the mother they have to have some evidence. moo

Seems it's been mentioned that the teen was at the house earlier that day babysitting? I don't have a link, but I always wonder why there was a need for a babysitter that day.

If anyone has a link to the babysitter info, please post it. TIa!

Hi everyone. Been lurking...

Just wondering if possibly the teen babysat while DB went to the store and might therefore have timeline info.

Also wondering why or how LE has photo of the homeless man to show neighbors (per Fox newscast about wine).

Forgive me if these thoughts already mentioned.

ETA: Yes, I see SuziQ just mentioned the babysitting question....

Jeremy was probably home when she went to the store... Have no idea at all who the mystery man would be,or why he is in the store with Deb... This just complicates everything even more...MOO

ETA Wouldn' she realize that there was a store surveillance cam ??

BBM: The only thing I can think of is he was the unidentified man in the video with mom buying wine, plates and whatever else....

That kind of makes no sense tho = didn't they say the homeless man was on a bike?

Either she was unconcerned because it was innocent, or she didn't realize she'd be filmed.

I wonder what LE was searching for along the Irwin fence and in adjacent woods?

Oh gosh, I'm sorry if I implied that at all. I certainly did not intend to. I will amend my comment to be more clear:

IF the store video is evidence that DB left the baby unattended AFTER JI left for work, and IF a tragic accident happened during that time, she may be fearful that charges similar to those brought against Jessica Tata would be brought against her. And that could be a motive to cover-up the accident. AGAIN ALL SPECULATION ON MY PART. My opinion would only apply if neither parent nor ANY OTHER ADULT were present IF/WHEN some tragic accident occurred.

It is most certainly NOT TABOO for dads to watch their children while moms run to the store, or anywhere for that matter.

Not necessarily YOU implying it. I have read many post implying it. Some people just seem to forget that this is a 2-parent household. Nowhere does it say that him and the kids were not with her themselves either. Only that an 'unidentified' man is with her. That could really mean anything or nothing at all.

I wonder why LE hasn't asked the general public for help identifying the homeless man. One of the neighbors must have known something about him, to know he's homeless and a handyman. We haven't heard even a first name.

This explains why the teen was there watching a movie. Baby sitting.

You remember this too. Do you have a link or remember where that came from? I've searching for one. TIA.

It sounds like they were preparing for a party. Nobody buys paper plates and napkins to have an illicit, one on one, get together with another man.

They do if their significant other checks for fingerprints!! :D

Ok, just kidding. :truce:

Oddly enough, PD may have never known about this trip if it hadn't been for the receipt they found. I wonder if this trip to the store is news to her husband as well.

The wine purchase would only be significant IF she didn' mention it to LE. And I think they were looking for the phones...MOO

I wonder if they found the wine??

That's what I want to know! Is the box empty? Was it in the trash at the Irwin house? Is it still sitting in the fridge?

I don't think homeless men are that much into wine, are they? Whiskey or beer would be more up their street.

They're into whatever they're into. Some even prefer mouthwash or cough syrup. Ick.
