My query is why was it necessary for pro witness TMcH to be escorted to court - no other witness was.

She probably demanded it given the circumstances (and possibly her frail mental state?)

Good morning all :) err... afternoon should I say.
Looks like I can get some work done in their lunch break.
Loved the tweet reports on the 'knitters' - LOL - its wonder they weren't interviewed.

IMO perhaps to shield her from media interrogation before and after testimony. Is the likeliest of the possibilities.

Once it gets to lunchtime I lose hope of a verdict for the day .. :(

Police 'thank you Ms TM for your fifth statement. You now realise that you will be called on as a witness in court'.

TM: 'oh no, I cannot face GM I am scared I will throw myself at him in front of the court, embrace him and tell him it is ok, I will wait, and I will retract everything I have said'.

Police: 'no worries Ms TM we will escort you, ensure you don't have to mingle with anyone at the court, we will put you up in a nice hotel and walk you to and from the court room through a private entrance.'

police to Police: 'aw ****, another one to babysit, I still think she is involved somehow, I wonder if we ever find the evidence? So let's draw straws, looser has to be with her!'

We're approaching the 16 hour mark in #Badenclay jury deliberations, now no verdict before 2:15pm @NewsTalk4BC

Is the jury really near a verdict or is this just Channel 9 BS to keep viewers interested?

Picked up on that wording too. Maybe Channel 9 have a fly on the wall in the jury room!!!

We're breaking for lunch. No verdict before 2.15pm. #badenclay

We certainly don't want jurors deliberating on an empty stomach. I could not even start studying for exams unless I had opened a packet of mint slice biscuits. Funny, I can't stand them now.

Lunch break. Judge won't take a verdict before 2.15pm #badenclay

How about before 2.45pm or after 3.15pm? (ie before or after school run) :please:

During lunch do the jurors go to the local and walk around outside or stay inside the courthouse a chat over cucumber & cheddar samiches and drink from foam cups?

I can imagine if the jurors venture outside the crowd would part like Moses commanding the Red Sea.
O'Lilac one several steps behind waving and yelling 'my shout, wait for me'!

Thinking about Mrs Dickie and her "cool as a cucumber" comment.

The knitters reminds me of Madame Defarge...

This waiting for a verdict is a bit like being in Labour seems endless and just goes on and on...

If only the judge could ask for a caesarean

Well imagine this, only being in agony at the same time. Mind you, I've never been in labour so I'm just guessing!
