The weekend BEFORE Haleigh went missing-revisited

Insurance or no insurance, if some drunk person hit Hank, I GUARANTEE we'd be hearing more about it. I never thought about it before, but there's no way he wouldn't be suing. What I'd like to know, is were there any unbiased witnesses? Did LE talk to this supposed drunk driver? Was there a police report? OR did someone just drive Hank to the ER and say a drunk driver hit him but he didn't have insurance, so they didn't bother with calling the police . . . .

I hadn't given this a second thought before, just assuming LE was involved in this incident. But now, knowing how violent and volitile these people are and all the issues they seem to have with vehicles, I'd like to hear more.

Cars and laundry. What is it with these families and cars and laundry???

I was wondering how Hank Sr. got to the ER too. If EMTs were called there should be a report somewhere and I would think that LE would have been summoned too at the same time.

So far I haven't found any info on this supposed accident.

Whisperer, I agree LE is making connections with Haleighs disappearance and the days leading up to it. I also think they might be connecting Hanks accident to it, too. I can't find any info that it actually happened, but what I find curious is that they found out he was doc shopping at all. I mean, what made them investigate it? They had to have found something while investigating Haleighs disappearance that made them investigate this, right?

You know this whole case is bazaar to begin with.

I found some of Chelsea's statements to be conflicting and odd.

Chelsea started driving the blue van, which she reported to be parked in a different spot than she usually left it the day Haleigh was reported missing. Cousin Joe had spent the night, and Chelsea told police she’d left the keys on the kitchen counter, where she usually does, within easy reach. “What I told police was that I can’t totally, 100 per cent account for Joe that night…
“I don’t see Joe doing something like this. ,I don’t know if Joe took it to the store, or maybe he didn’t take it at all.” (But wait, wasn't she one of the family members that didn't trust Joe? Then why did She let him stay the night.)

The Gun Incident:
Art,watched Misty’s mother, Tommy and wife Lindsay give Staubs a yard tour, showing him a drainage pipe under the driveway where they claim Joe stashed a gun he’d allegedly stolen from Ronald. (So, are we to believe that the gun was hidden at Chelsea's house? Is that not where Misty was dropped off at the morning of Feb 8 around 4am after her 4 day party bindge with Nay Nay and WBG? Could that be were Ron was rushing to the morning he passed by the bus stop, on his way to GGMS to get Haleigh a shirt? I believe even more now that Haleigh and Jr. were at GGMS that Monday morning?)
Chelsea says;
She stopped talking to Cobra after he started spreading rumors about someone named Donald S., saying there was a convicted sex offender by that name and he was related to someone in our families. Lindsay has someone named Sapp in her family, but whoever Cobra was talking about, it wasn’t the same guy.
“You’ve got to be nuts to think I’d let some known pedophile near my kids… (So, why did she let Joe O. stay in her home with her kids? Why did any of the Crolins allow cousin Joe around? Hasn't Misty made claims that Joe also messed with her? Why would she allow Haleigh around him or even want to be around him herself if her claims are true?)
The morning that Haleigh had been reported missing, Chelsea and Timmy joined the long line of family members for interviews, took polygraphs, and watched Ron and Misty hand over the clothes they were wearing to police. “Ronald was wearing his company jumpsuit, like a blue work outfit that zipped up the front, and they both went in back and took off everything, including their underwear.” (So, are we to assume that Chelsea, and Timmy pasted their poly? The only one LE has ever said that gave conflicting statements was Misty and LE did at one point last year make a brief comment that some of Ron's statements were inconsistent. I don't have the link off hand, but recall the statement clear as day.)

Misty did a fine job watching her kids, too, even if she’d occasionally fall asleep. (How can that be a fine job watching young children? You can not let young children roam around while your sleeping, especially in Misty's case...while abusing drugs.)

Yet in another interview with Chelsea, she said she drove to Gainesville first thing on Tuesday to pick Lisa up and a round trip from Crescent City to Gaineville takes approx 2 1/2 hours so how was she able to "join the long line of family members for interviews " and be in both places at the same time?

It appears Hank Sr was returned home from hospital, on Tuesday in an ambulance because his leg was in a cast and he couldn't ride in any other type of vehicle, and if Lisa spent the night with him, why wouldn't she accompany him in the ambulance, unless she was forbidden to do so because of the company's policy?

There are definitely inconsistencies in Chelsea's statements and her stories don't make anymore sense than Misty's IMO.

They are arresting every member from either family to see if they can get any info at all from them. Some of these people had little happen to them before Ron Cummings and Misty Croslin lost Haliegh.

If you know them, talked to them, slept with them or are related to them, don't be surprised if you find yourself at the Greybar.

ever since I read Chelsea backed up Misty against Amber and her mother, my hinky meter went off.

The two family members slipping under the radar are Timmy and Chelsea, why?

Snip & BBM

FL is a state that requires insurance. IF Hank Sr had no insurance and was involved in a serious MVA, he should have been charged with driving with no insurance, IMO.

Do we know what in what county this MVA occurred? If so, it would be a lot easier to track down the police report (and any possible newspaper articles).

IIRC, this accident is also when Hank (Sr) began receiving his prescriptions for pain killers (due to the injuries he received from the accident). I believe that Hank was in a wheelchair during the first days, and then was on crutches thereafter.

Wheelchair: (This picture was used later in the case when Lisa spoke out, but they used this file photo. As you can see, Hank is in a wheelchair):

First of all I have seen many inmates use wheelchairs to their advantage, so I don't know whether it was needed or not. The strange thing after reading an article is Hank said he was hit by a drunk driver but that it was "Hit and Run" WTH? How would you know if the driver was drinking if he took off? I need more info about this accident. If this happened the weekend of Haleigh going missing....there is something amiss...

It was Chelsea's car. What model of car? what amount of damage? When did this occur? Now we have this to mix up with a fight with a cousin, fight with a lover, hazy weekend, lover seeking sex and comfort with another, drugs, guns and some damaged vehicles..lots
to sort out.

.....The common factor with everyone and everything on the list, except hank, is Ronald Cummings....and we can't be sure what he knows about that vehicle or accident either.

Didn't Chelsey state she was working on insurance claims the night Haleigh disappeared?

Thanks Ath..for that great photo and info.

Can you identify the male in the photo with hank and Lisa?

Yes she did per Art's article, and she also said the car was wrecked two days before Haleigh was reported missing.

Chelsea was beyond exhaustion. “We’d just left Gainesville, dropping (Misty’s mother) Lisa off to be with Hank at the hospital. I’d been up late trying to figure out insurance claims for our car that was wrecked, dealing with an injured father in law and then, we go to sleep and about 4 a.m., and I get a phone call.”It was Misty.:waitasec: ( I now wonder what time they went to sleep? She claims she drove Lisa to Gainesville that night, I wonder who all went? Is that the reason Misty wanted to go babysit? Did she go? Would Chelsea tell LE if Misty was at her home that night?)
Two days before Haleigh turned up missing , a drunk driver with no insurance smashed into the used car Timmy and Chelsea had just bought days earlier.:waitasec: (So that would mean the car accident was on or around Feb 6-7.)
Hank, Sr., her father in law wound up in the hospital in Gainesville, Fla., she says, and didn’t come home until after Haleigh vanished, on crutches, pins in his leg and a lot of pain.
With her car totaled, Chelsea started driving the blue family van.

Yosande - I got a 404 error when I clicked on doobie's link. Anybody else?

I had a problem; my message said I didn’t have privileges.

So Haleigh was reported missing on the 10th. That puts Chelsea's car being wrecked about Sunday.....hmmmm.

  • #373
that picture of Hank and Lisa (the black and white, where he's in the chair) was taken not long after his accident. The crutches pic was taken on the day of Misty and Ron's marriage.

Not that it really matters, but Hank's leg WAS in an extended straight out cast for a couple weeks.

Thanks Debs....Okay, so he did need a wheelchair, I guess. I am so skeptical of people because of the prison system. Those guys are always trying to get one over on ya.
___________

So that means Tommy came to the rescue with another vehicle (the bue van) immediately. wouldn't tommy need the van for his own kids. Afterall, he had one in school. I don't think Chelsea did and she doesn't work. Lindsy needs a car also.

How much paperwork is involved in an insurance claim, anyway? I didn't think much. I think the company does it all, don't they?

I just filed against my policy for a total loss on a truck and it was all handled over the phone. As to health insurance, if that's what being referred to, my paperwork has always been done at the hospital and not at home.

For some reason, I can't get my mind wrapped around insurance being part of the Croslin equation.

I'm pretty sure it's Ron's dad. It looks like him back there.

Here is a picture of Jack L. Cummings. Looks like he has on the same hat as the first picture.

So, am I interpreting this correctly? Hank Sr. was involved in an accident while driving alone? A drunk driver did a hit and run? I would really like to know if there was any evidence of a collision with another car or did he just get "ran off the road" maybe into a ditch? Let me guess, there were no other witnesses; just poor ole Hank Sr. Have I got this right?:waitasec:

I'm sure that the insurance company would have required a police report for the claim. Does anyone know where the accident happened? TIA.
