The Woman Who Shut Up Simon Cowell

Well I'm surprised that Susan didn't win, however I have to admit I haven't watched any of the other acts so what do I know?

What I want to hear about now is, when is Susan and Piers going on their dinner date?

I have no doubt she will have a cd come out and I hope she knows just how many people she has touched!

I think she needs a handler. A good decent manager, that can advise her but also protect her in ways until she can handle the fame.

I usually complain about celebrities that have so-called "yes-men" because it can go wrong in many ways, but Susan needs some guidence and support until she can step out on her own. I think she will. She stated in one of the articles in this thread that her next step is to put out a CD. Good for her.

There's a blip on the Drudge report that our dear Susan is being admitted to a hospital, the poor thing is having problems. She needs our prayers. Can you imagine two months ago she was alone with her cat, and now all this.

I hope she is OK;
I think it is for some cosmetic work. (not sure)

How is it possible, you wonder, that Susan Boyle lost "Britain's Got Talent" just days after Adam Lambert lost "American Idol"? There may be a harsh reality behind both reality TV shows that got it wrong. Boyle and Lambert may have lost public contests because of their private lives. more at link: http://goldderby.latimes.com/awards...boyle-adam-lambert-news-847319526-story-.html

Hi Linask, Thanks for that article :blowkiss:

Last night on Geraldo Susan was a point of discussion. I didn't really like the expert he had on as he was so cocky, but he said he thought she had lost because of her 2 outbursts during the week.

Geraldo pointed out that she was victimized by two paparazzi and the guy didn't think that mattered. I didn't agree with him as so many talented personalities have also been hot tempered through the ages.

He also said she should have chosen a different song. Evidently she had that opportunity, tho am still not sure about that. He said she needed something a bit different to WOW the world with all over again. That could be true.

What I find interesting is that FOX did a poll on who they thought should have won, and Susan took the cake with about 84% of those voting.

I wish her well and am also looking forward to her CD!

No it is NOT for cosmetic work ...its not that sort of place where she has been admitted.

According to the press there were problems with her after the show last night and she is now in the Priory... which is a rehabiation centre kinda for people having breakdowns etc

Its funny ( or actually its not ) but a top counsellor for reality problems said that there would be problems with Susan and Piers and Simon rubbished him and said she was being taken care of. She wanted to quit all week and apparently last night was sedated and then ran amok in her underwear afterwards and is now in the Priory..somewhere..someone has messed up big time IMO.

Actually in Susans case i think it was her private life that got her the votes ie the 48 year old woman who had never been kissed and it was kinda like a rags to riches story. The problem was ... for a lot..they thought she was a good singer BUT they just preferred other acts for whatever reason. And maybe it shouldnt be but to a extent some people do have advantages ie the cute little kids..the good looking young guys..and Susan was up against a LOT of those.

But in any event Simon himself said Diversity was the only act he thought deserved 10/10 last night. Almost everyone i know wanted them to win in fact.

Would be interesting to know out of those voting how many actually watched all the other acts though.

On tonight main news ( bearing in mind there was 10 acts) Diversity got over 1/4 of all votes received.

Btw another thing to remember is - most people who supported Susan were adults..and so probably would only have voted once. Whereas other acts probably had kids using whole top up cards voting for who they wanted to win. In these sort of competitions here its mainly young people /teenagers voting and they wouldnt have taken notice of what was said in the paper anyhow..they just want the young lads to win.

Poor Susan..I just hope she is OK..Not only did she have the weight of the world on her shoulders to win this competition Susan Boyle is said to be sick with worry after her favorite niece collapsed just weeks after giving birth to a baby boy.

Jacquelene Houston, 31, had been suffering dizzy spells, heaping stress on her famous aunt in the run up to the grand finale of the contest. And yesterday the tension mounted further as Jacquelene – daughter of Susan’s brother James – was rushed to hospital. A spokesperson at admissions at St John’s Hospital said: “Mrs Houston was discharged from A&E at 4pm.”

Last night Jacqui was at home “resting in bed” according to a relative at the house.

Hi Isabella, It is so good to get a local viewpoint and I so agree with you, as always :blowkiss:

I'm a bit upset at Piers for saying things about her the public had no reason knowing, like she was deprived of oxygen at birth and was called 'Simple Susan'. That did pi** me off!

Do you think she had been given a sedative before she sang last night? I am trying to fully understand what you are saying in another post about someone really messing up. Do you mean those who took care of her before the show? xox

Geraldo just said Susan was hung out to dry for ratings. They debated to allowing her on the program to begin with because of her background. Whatever that means. It was all he said in response to an email to the show.

About the Simple Susan remarks Susan herself said in a interview she used to be called that. Whether she said it for sympathy or just because she didnt know how it would come out i dont know.

It was said last night she had been given sedation. Most of last week she wanted to pull out of the show and apparently she was crying most of yesterday before the show. When they came back for the results show..the other acts all waved when there names were called but Susan..she just stood there not moving. She just didnt seem all there ( and i dont mean that nastily honestly). She looked petrified when they was giving the results out and soon as she realised she hadnt won she started smiling and seemed to relax. Which makes the fact that she went mad afterwards seem weird.

What i mean by they messed up was..this pyschiatrist who looked after the welfare of contestants on Big Brother ( ofc another reality show) said at the weekend she shouldnt be on the show and that she couldnt handle it and that Cowell should take her out of the show. But Piers and Simon said she was being looked after..yea right..being looked after means letting her being sedated and the next day shes in the Priory

I think what Geraldo means ( and i cant stand him lol) when he says because of her background - well ofc she has learning difficuties and appears to get upset quickly and that maybe temperamentwise etc a reality show wasnt the best thing for her to go on.

I have to say i just read where Simon is selling the rights to her life story and wants her to go away this week to start recording an album ( already) . This is crazy IMO. I do nt know how long she will be in the Priory but..it really does appear to me that all Simon is concerned about is making money from her whether it be from all the money made from people voting or anything else where she is concerned.

While i may not be her biggest fan...when i read stuff like that it just leaves a nasty taste :(

Singing sensation Susan Boyle has been taken to a private clinic suffering from exhaustion following her shock defeat in the final of "Britain's Got Talent," her brother and British media reported Monday. They say she was admitted under the "Mental Health Act." My prayers go out for Susan!

Hey Susan!!! Don't worry, love, you're the famous one. I don't even know who those other people are...

  • #315

The problem is...how exactly is this "fame" benefitting her? Shes in the Priory and spent most of last week crying and not eating. In all honesty if thats what being famous does...id rather not have it and just be happy.

I think the problem is it all happened so suddenly - she didn't have years of practice, preparation, agents, "image consultants", etc.

She's not the usual "star"; I can certainly see that she felt so much pressure, criticism of looks, pressure to change, etc.

Maybe she has had some underlying problems all along, who knows (she was a bit of a recluse, not sociable (?); but overall I don't blame her and I'm not surprised at all if she's suffering from exhaustion/nervous breakdown.

Thank goodness she was able to get immediate help; I bet she comes out of it all OK...and stronger.

She did have underlying problems all along..if thats the right way to describe it i guess. She has learning diffculties and when she was born her brain was starved of oxygen which has meant shes not worked for 20 odd years.

According to her friends these outbursts shes been having since the final are common. They said its just bad if your not used to them.

I had no idea; that's sad. Isn't she what you would call and "idiot-savant"? I hope I'm using the right term - disabled, but extreme talent in one area.

I know what term you are looking for Martha. They are called "savants" only now :) They have dropped the first word ~ :blowkiss:

I don't know if she qualifies as such or not.

I don't think so because she seems quite articulate and has a wonderful sense of humor. I think she might just be slow, mentally, with learning disablilities. Emotionally, I think she has just been sheltered all her life. Having to care for her elderly parents while her siblings went off into the world and left her as their caretakers. Her brother has alot of nerve blaming Simon and Piers..Where was he all those years Susan was taking care of her parents, then her Mother when her Father passed away?..She has said from the beginning.."It's just been Me and My Cat". IMO

Pablo Picasso said:

“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up."

Let's just hope Susan can grow up, be healthy and remain and artist!
