I believe the perps were very well known to the family. Had regular access and intimate knowledge of the home. They were comfortable there, relaxed and confident. There was no breakin, the perp had keys. They spent time constructing the note. The note seemed to be an affront to Mr. Ramsey, lots of personal references which leads me to believe a personal feeling of resentment and anger towards him. The childish movie references and ridiculous low ransom amount was more to antagonize Mr Ramsey than any real attempt to secure any monetary return.

My theory, They entered the home after midnight. They were gloved, had rope and a stun gun. The went directly to JonBenets room. Applied tape to her mouth, restrained her, used the stun gun twice, the second stun was to the upper body causing her to violently and involuntary slam her head into the bed headboard, releasing her bladder . Causing an injury similar to the head injury of Bob Sagat. This injury was unintentional but changed the course of events. They replaced her underwear at this point , rapped her in the blanket and proceeded to the basement. I believe at this point they may have realized the extent of the head injury. They panicked and used the rope they brought to the scene originally to restrain her to hastily make a Garrotte and proceeded to strangle her. I think the original plan was to bind her, tape her mouth and keep her in that unused basement wine room. They never intended to remove her from the house. They never intended to kill her. I also think the 10 am call for the ransom instructions would have been to tell the family that she was alive and well in the basement. The sole intent was to cause turmoil , panic, humiliation and trauma to Mr. Ramsey. Who and why can be reverse engineer from this scenario.

Interesting.

I think where I'd have to differ is the events in the bedroom. Her sheets were dry, so she didn't empty her bladder there, but likely in the boiler room. More subjectively, I don't think a bash against the headboard would be enough to cause the massive crack in her skull. In general I think there's a lack of evidence of struggle in the bedroom. Personally, I think everything violent happened in the boiler room.

Also, even more subjectively, I've never been able to see the garotte as an afterthought, whether for staging or finishing her off. Thought and care was put into it. It really seems like what the killer was building up to. Of course, the main thrust of your theory could still be true - I just don't think JonBenet was meant to be found alive.

If the victim was in a supine hook-lying position, would it not require a contraction and a relaxation of the muscles in order for the feet to push the body across the bed in which the head makes contact with the head board. I believe stun guns create contraction of the muscles not relaxation, which is the next step needed in a muscle in order to get a degree of flexion and extension of the knee to create an action of a "push off" from the bed in order for the head to strike the headboard. If there is a physical therapist present ,perhaps they could chime in. Do you think lying on your back you could push enough off your feet to hit your skull that you could create a 8 1/2 inch linear crack?
If my memory serves me correct, I believe the coroner located possible stun gun marks on one side of the face and on the posterior near the rear.
