A thief has hit a giant pumpkin competition on the New South Wales north coast stealing a ute-load of vegetables due to go before the judges.
Local grower Earl Knight set up the produce display at a shopping complex near Lismore on Friday night.
He says the vegetables were gone when he turned up on Saturday morning.
"They've stolen a lot of melons and other edible type melons and grammas," Mr Knight said.
