Okay, Pam, who is Adams whom Darlie was penpaling with while in jail? You mentioned the name on another thread to Beesy in a discussion about Darlie's jailhouse outburst at Darin, claiming he cheated on her and saying she was having lusty communitcations with this person. Tell me more please.
I read it in the books cami sent me.

Wow! That sure does mean something. According to their testimony, the car was in the mechanic's located in the same industrial strip as Darin's shop. That mechanic called Darlie with orders for Darin to pick it up and he was rude, upsetting Darlie. If Darin had a late afternoon appt at his old shop (where he used to work) and had the Jag with him, they lied about the Jag and the mechanic's call. Wonder why.

That guy's post says it was the afternoon before the early morning murders. That would be the afternoon of the 5th. The kids were killed in the wee hours of the 6th, just a few hours later. In fact, right about 12 hours or less later.

It makes a lot of things make sense. Basia said he left the shop earlier than she did and he took Dana with him, and that he and Dana arrived at Darlie's when she was ready to leave. So assume Basia is a little incorrect on the times and that Dana and Darin left the shop an hour or more before Basia did, that they went to the other shop, and afterwards went somewhere with some of the old gang for a drink or two, and were dropped off .....where? At the Jag or at the Pathfinder, which was probably still at their current shop. I can see where that would have or could have started a pretty heated argument....and why it might have led to Miss Dana being sent home early.

Could you post a link to this post?
Hey Goody, I told ya so I told ya so I told ya so! I always thought there either was some funny business going on between Darin and Dana or that Darlie suspected there was! Told ya so!

Well, don't go jumping to conclusions yet. If the comments can't be substantiated by more than one person, it is hardly proof of an affair. It might have just been Darlie's jealousy rearing suspiciously. Sorry, bees, but not you need more before you can start celebrating.

Both books report of an early affair in the Routier marriage. That makes at least two people saying this. I have no idea who it was that Darin cheated with.

Guys don't just cheat once. If he had an affair early in the marriage, there were others throughout the years. I just don't see it in this case, but then so far they have been pretty good about keeping most of their personal life before the murders quiet. Amazing but true. We know very little about them before May, 1996 except for the general factual stuff. So who knows? I will keep an open mind on it.

I couldn't believe it either. When I read it I was like...whoa.....I need to rethink the dynamics of their marriage. Also, there was the matter of the neighbor hearing Darin calling her a fat pig. That also shocked me. Darin didn't know the friend was in the house when he was yelling this at Darlie. I think the friend was in the other part of the house and heard him yelling this. She then walked out carrying Drake, gave him to Darlie, then went home. Stuff like this was written in both books Cami sent me. Like I said, I was shocked myself.

that is shocking because I have always thought of darin as being so "smitten".

Well, I have read all the books, too. I guess I have just forgotten little tidbits like that. I do remember one friend describing Darlie who said that half the time Darlie wanted to be the best mom in the world and the other half she wanted to be a star, see her name up in lights. I think that might be at the heart of who Darlie really was...divided. I suspect she might have been divided about many issues. Esp parenting. Some days she loved them tremendously and other days she didn't want them at all. Some days she would b e very strict and other days very lenient. That division within her would have sent mixed messages to the kids and made them harder to handle because they never really knew where the boundaries were. That division might also be evidenced in her home going from the "Ninetindo House" and neighborhood favorite to locking the boys outside so they wouldn't wake the baby. But that is just my personal speculation based on a few comments by her friends and neighbors.
