Thoughts about listening to prison phone calls

Robyn did not insert herself into the case as far as I know, from what I read another inmate turned it in Maya I believe and LE came to her and she then turned them over.
Same with River, she did not go to LE, LE came to her.

Robyn asked her dad to send a copy of all the letters to her atty. She hired a 4th atty (with expertise in these matters) to represent her in negotiations for cooperating. I would say she had an agenda, she did make accusations, and thus inserted herself. JMO.

Its horrible to listen to these. I feel panicked just thinking about the confinement, the lack of freedom, the noise, the cold showers, the food, not to mention the constant fear. Didn't RA blame someone else for ratting her out, or setting her up? Not taking responsibility is not a good place to be while sitting 10 years in jail.
I also hear in the tone of the people on the outside, sort of a resignation, a tired tolerance. It must be horrible to get regular calls from someone in jail needing your constant support. If its family you have no choice but to help get them through it. What a burden a person places on their whole circle when they decide to commit a crime.

As a parent of a convict I did choose to stand by my child throughout his many years of incarceration. I know he was guilty, he did the crime and did the time as he should, but it doesn't make easy. Holidays are by far the hardest calls to take, lots of tears for sure.

Not to mention the fact that Rs Father was meeting with M if I am reading correctly(I havent listened to those sets of tapes as I am still on Cs). This leaves me thinking they set this up.

We knew from her letters she sent to her BFF that's not in jail (the same one she assured she wasn't "cheating on" with Casey) that is what she was doing. She spelled out her intentions quite clearly in her letters IMO.

I appreciate how hard it must have been for you. My hat is off to you. Struggling to present a strong front and keep the encouragement going must be incredibly hard. I feel a heart break each time this father answers that call.

ITA about the "different tone here today"...thought maybe I was the only one who felt this and didn't want to basically say anything...almost like looking for needles in the proverbial haystack, too.
Also wanted to add....JMO....I still fail to "see" (hear) where Robyn is such a liar....I mean, the way the "initial" thread was introduced, I suppose I was expecting much more in the way of TOTAL deception....again, JMO.

Robyns family sounds amazing. I also thought maybe Casey can hear her conversations on the phone and thats why she wrote Robyn like she did with all the religion, and notice Robyn calls her dad daddy everytime and Casey was calling god Daddy. I think it is very sad for the family kids and all those involved. Robyn doesn't remind me any thing of Casey, she seems like a nice girl who put herself in the wrong sitatuions and seems to love and care for her kids and her family.

It is hard for me to understand how Robyn got so far off base in her life. Her parents sound like very good, concerned religious people. Her dad is so supportive of her and obviously very involved and loving towrards her children.

He is discussing the Christmas presents he bought for her children and is also talking about all of the children's activities - taking one to a dance recital, taking the children to a play at church.

Makes me wonder if I could handle my own grandchildren on a full time basis should something happen to their parents. I guess you do what you have to do in life.

Is Tracey - who is in Iowa - a relative of Robyn's? Or someone who was in jail with her? Or what?

I can't help but think that for a large number of women in prison, their bad choices have a lot to do with the men they choose. And, that works both ways ... at least KC didn't have enough time to totally destroy the life of any of the guys she was involved with. They were certainly lucky to escape with a fresh chance for a good life. I bet they thank their lucky stars and God each day!!!
