I love these rides. That accident was scary, but still not as scary as driving on Florida roads.
--lol--Well then you obviously have never driven in New Jersey or New York City!--Florida drivers are a gentle bunch compared to those places....but I heard Miami is pretty bad,I haven't driven down there in 20 years

My teenaged daughter is addicted to thrill rides and the higher and faster they go the better. I should show her this thread to remind her how dangerous they can be. As for me, I can't stand roller coasters at all. Poor girl!

Is there any word if surgeons were able to reattach her feet?

Another forum I am a member at had a post by the SO of a person who works at the hospital she was taken too and she said one foot was not able to be reattached and one was, however they won't know for a while if the surgery was successful. This is all third and fourth hand info that was not released to the media, so take it with a grain of salt. :)

As a nurse myself, it bothers me that a worker at the hospital she is at is giving out info about her on the internet. He/she could lost their job and should be reminded of the HIPAA guidelines in our country. Even telling their SO and the SO then posting it is very wrong.

(hope you don't take that the wrong way mrsjonnob. I know you are just passing on what you read:) )

Those cables should be replaced periodically. There should be someone keeping track of the life expectancy of the equipment. :furious: Seems to me the owners/operators don't think about that.

Having worked in the amusement park industry for over 14 years, I can tell you that safety inspections occur daily on every ride. The owners and operators absolutely think about it. Having also still been employed in the industry at a park where a death occurred, I can tell you that every employee takes it hard and personally -- even those of us who were in the Admin departments.

im sure you guys do .. it was such a terrible accident . i dont feel any type of equipment is without its flaws ect no matter how much its maintained . something can always happen.

I thought of being 13 and going the rest of my life without feet is just awful. I hope they were able to reattach them.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The teenage girl injured at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom must have more surgery because of complications, according to family members, reported WLKY-TV.

The family of Kaitlyn Lasitter issued a statement Friday, updating their daughter's condition.

Kaitlyn's parents said their daughter's physical and emotional pain is "unimaginable."

That poor, poor little girl. It sounds like she's in for a long ordeal of medical treatment. And what kind of morons are these people who, though they think they're being helpful, are basically taunting this family with their "what ifs"!
