With approval from @tricia I am creating a thread to share information about thwarted mass shootings and attacks. There are a lot of these, but there usually isn't a ton of media coverage about them. I think its good information for us to learn from. It seems people are slowly starting to learn to report concerning behaviors/posts/comments (also known as leakage).

Here is one from today - a former police officer was planning a mass shooting at an upcoming Louisiana jazz festival.

Orange County says Christopher Gillum was a deputy sheriff until last September and a Chapel Hill officer from 2004 to 2019.

Here is a case from 2015 in which a father reported his son to authorities based on concerning behavior. Andrew Ciccolo, whose father was a Boston police chief, was eventually convicted of attempting to make and use a pressure bomb to commit a mass casualty attack at a university.

An 18-year-old woman was being held on a $10 million bond on Thursday after authorities alleged she conspired with two men to attack a Texas synagogue and "kill as many Jews as possible," according to court records.

Two men, only identified as "Angel" and "Teegan," allegedly plotted with Hicks to commit the attack in 2028.

The two co-conspirators, according to the court records, have not been arrested and remain unidentified.

Hicks’ father spoke to FOX8 after her arrest, describing the charges as “fabricated” and “way over the top.”

He says Hicks was playing a dark online fantasy game and described her as a “good kid” who was set to graduate in two weeks. She does not have a vehicle or a driver’s license.
