Tiger Woods Injured in Roll-Over Car Accident in California, Feb 2021

Leaving the hotel on the bluffs, he was speeding out and nearly hit the director, who was arriving. Then he sped off seemingly agitated and impatient. ....reported by TMZ, so take it for what
Seriously, he must have been going down at quite a speed to go over and clear the median, onto the southbound lanes, then jumping that curb and up the hill ! Holy cow ! He could have died in that crash.
There have been several accidents down that stretch, usually young guys/students speeding.
Good thing he didn’t hit another vehicle or pedestrian.

Did they say anything?

nevernind. I found it. The link wasn’t working for me.

Per press conference

  • Call rec'd 7:12 am from neighbor 50 ft. from location
  • Arrived 7:18 am
  • No evidence of impairment, investigators will have to follow up
  • Lomita Sheriff will be investigating, will take days or weeks
  • 7:22 LAFD received call, upon arrival extricated through windshield
  • Holident? tool (for prying) and ax (for prying)used to extricate
  • Packaged him (splints and neck brace) and transported by ambulance to nearest trauma center, Harbor UCLA Hospital (vs. another hospital that may have been closer because of the trauma)
  • Injuries to both legs
  • Because of the slope/curve, is higher frequency area for accidents
  • No skid marks/breaking evidence was visible
  • Hit curb and tree, several roll overs
  • Tiger's Manager doesn't want LE to release information on Tiger's condition at this time
  • First call to 911 was neighbor by accident
  • Investigators will download info on car computer diagnostics to help determine accident info
  • He was driving a courtesy car
  • We don't know at this time if he was on phone, that will be investigated
  • 3-4 hours to process an accident such as this is pretty normal
  • At the hospital he asked LE to contact "a member of his team"
  • He was heading northbound on Hawthorne
  • He was wearing seat belt
  • Made contact with sign/median.. went across SB and hit tree and tree sheared off at 8 inches high
  • They won't speak to how much pain he was and if was screaming etc. Will leave that to family to release that information.
Up next....
Deputy Carlos Gonzales was first at the scene. He was not able to stand on his own and went on a backboard. He was calm and lucid at the time and spoke to him. He knew his name, day, and where he was. He didn't seem concerned about his injury as many folks are when in shock. His body cam was on at the time. That stretch of roadway has 45 mph speed limit. When he spoke with Mr. Woods he decided to wait for fire. The neighbor heard collision, called, and came down to direct LE to where the accident was as there was another accident with onlookers. They don't know how many times the car flipped.

ETA: I hope that his 5 back surgeries/spine fusion are ok (latest was in December to have disc fragments removed)

Tiger Woods crash: No evidence star was affected by drugs or alcohol in LA car crash
Tiger Woods was seriously injured, his SUV crashed into a median, rolled over several times and ended up on its side, he was pulled out through the windshield, he had his seatbelt on.
Woods was alone in the SUV when it crashed into a raised median shortly before 7.15am, crossed two oncoming lanes and rolled over several times. No other cars were involved. Woods was alert and able to communicate as firefighters pried open the front windshield to get him out.

“Production sources tell TMZ, when the director arrived just before 7am, Tiger was driving his SUV very fast as he was leaving the property and almost hit the director’s car.
“agitated and impatient” and almost crashed into the car of the director who was in charge of the promotional shoot

“The director was shaken enough to tell production staff about it after he parked.

“A crew member who saw Tiger as he got in his SUV at the hotel tells TMZ, once Tiger got in his vehicle, there was a delay in driving off and he appeared ‘agitated and impatient’. The crew member says once the delay was over, Tiger ‘took off fast’.”

I pray for Tiger and hope he will be okay. Recently having back surgery concerns me for many reasons. I hope his kids are able to interact with him too. Although I am not a fan of his prior antics I sincerely wish the best for him and his loved ones. I think it’s a miracle no one else was injured and that he survived.

Some of the traffic accident deaths that have occurred here.
Many accidents without fatalities as well.

You do not speed around here. It's hilly, and the main roads have curves going down the hills. You've got to pay attention. (especially when it's wet) Down the hills on the two main roads, Hawthorne and Crenshaw, one always has a foot on the brake, otherwise you will be going 65/70 mph. (speed limit is 45)
Every year there are accidents. On Crenshaw, they built a concrete center divider about 4 feet high, because there's no median strip, cars were flying into the opposite lanes.

Tiger Woods does not have the familiarity with the roads, and he was late for the photo shoot, maybe he was briefly distracted as well, losing control of his vehicle.

"covering of the muscles" = skin?
