Time to move on/How best to honor Caylee now *merged*

Restaurateur Jeff Ruby took out a half page ad in the Orlando Sentinel Saturday saying the people of Orlando got the verdict of the Casey Anthony trial wrong. I sent him an email thanking him for what many of us believe. Here is the email he sent back to me….

Thank you for taking the time to send me your uplifting comments. Interestingly, some very negative and offensive blogs, emails, etc. have been going around about my opinion and reason for taking out the ad. It meant a great deal to me to hear from you and so many other people from all over America that feel the way you and I do.

Warmly,
Jeff Ruby

no it isn't ... I'm still not finding it under non-profits in Florida ... I'll check around tomorrow but the Anthonys are starting a new non-profit and supporting Caylee's Law etc. so I've been on the lookout for that one ...
There are no new ones with Cindy or George listed on them but they could use a lawyer for the officer/director

Just did a search on the IRS site and NO org with this name exists ! Searched it as 3 words and also as 1 word

IRS Search For Charities

I finally received an response to my e-mail asking about permits.

They wrote:
"Step one is Conceptual Designs, before we can apply for permits, we are confident that we will have the full support of the City and community; the alternative to doing nothing is not a good option either. * regards, eric
Volunteer Bring Kids Home"

At least they answered my question and admitted they don't have any permits.

They may be legit, but they are certainly building this up in the press and are soliciting donations from individuals, organizations, corporations etc.
even tho' they have not even applied for any permits yet. Nevertheless, they are making public statements as if it's all a done deal, saying they will (not "hope to") break ground in a few months and finish it by next year at this time. They make no mention that they have no permits and that it's actually just an idea right now.

I saw the person who bought the land and is heading the "project' on tv with the title "grief counselor" saying FCA can be forgiven. (didn't note where)

IMO, they are hyping this by playing on peoples' emotions to get donations.
In this time, when many people are having a hard time just getting by,
asking people to pay $80 for a brick for a memorial that may or may not be built is, at the very least, not a nice thing to do.

I hope people will hold off donating until more info is available.

This area has been a dumping area for trash, and tends to flood. Memorials that have just recently been left are already soaked. The smell from trash alone will be bad. Bugs, snakes, everything overgrown in a very short time - and who will be responsible for perpetual care? Maybe as someone here suggested, a memorial room at the library where young kids can look at books, have guests who read to them, puppet shows, etc. The kids don't have to be reminded of a dead Caylee, just that Caylee's Room is a neat place to go where it is safe. My Gr grandson visits his library at least once per week with his Gma and he loves it. They have rugs on the floor and small low tables and chairs, they don't have to be quite as quiet as when in the other part of the library.

I'm not sure if this has already been posted, my apologies if it has :

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A nonprofit group has purchased the land where Caylee Anthony's remains were found with the intent to turn it into a permanent memorial.

Since Caylee's remains were found blocks away from the Anthony family home in December 2008, the land off Suburban Drive has turned into a place where the public has made their own makeshift memorial, but there are now plans for a walkway lined with benches.

Groundbreaking is set to take place sometime in the next several months.

Eddie Delvale of Bring Kids Home, the group that purchased the land, said that hundreds of people participated in a walk on Sunday from the memorial to the Anthony family home on Hopespring Drive.

He said the group will hold the walk on July 17, the date Casey Anthony was released from jail, every year in Caylee's honor.

see my post 103 above

Bring Kids Home has not even applied for permits for the project yet, per their response to my emailed question.
It seems hinky to me that they say Groundbreaking is set to take place sometime in the next several months. It seems like a misrepresentation.

From today's news
http://www.wesh.com/casey-anthony-extended-coverage/28657254/detail.html#ixzz1T8paXvIt

A nonprofit charity dubbed Bring Kids Home is under contract with the real-estate agent in charge of the site where Caylee Marie Anthony's remains were found in 2008.

They keep back pedaling on this memorial.

First it was going to be completed next year.
Then I e-mailed them and they admitted they have no permits.
Now it looks like they haven't even purchased the land - they just want to.

They were soliciting funding - they wanted people to buy an $84 brick .
The website said you can get $30 back if the memorial isn't built. Now this has been removed from the website.

Be careful.
just sayin'
.

A walk in Caylee's honor on her MOTHERS RELEASE DATE? Why not the date Caylee went missing? Danged if I'm ever gonna' commemorate HER release date or why not even have it on the day her remains were located?!!! UGH!

More UGH!

Just UGLY!

SICK little perversion there!

IMO, of course.

(Thought I was done with this case, ugh)

Kicks self.

While reading most of the posts on a lot of the threads, I've noticed there seems to be a lot of anger. This is where I'm at, too much anger in me because of what/who? I couldn't care less what happens to CFCA. I've always believed GA was weak, I still believe this. The father of Adam Walsh was and still is strong. The father of Polly Klass was and still is strong. The father of Morgan Harrington was and still is strong. There are many more. I believe the father of CFCA is not strong. I believe CA is a natural liar. I know people like this. Most people naturally tell the truth, these people naturally lie. About 10 years ago I chose to eliminate these people from my life, (it was hard, they were my hubby's sisters and his mom) Ca and I would never be friends. I've chosen to go back into my own little world. I will still come here to get the truth. I will still boycott anything and everyone who has not done right by Caylee, as will my family and friends. I wish all of you here at WS happiness and peace. I will be back just not every day :-)

It's not time for ME to move on. I'm going to sit right here and fume until some kind of justice occurs for this precious little girl. Even if the only justice she ever gets is that thing who gave birth to her can't show her face in public without a crowd calling her out.

That's just how I roll.

I agree and I am offended when people say to move on or get over it. This is how things like this are allowed to continue, when we don't learn from mistakes and travesties and don't demand change. There are lots of things we can't do anything about - reforming the legal system and trying to prevent the Anthony family from getting blood money is something we CAN affect.

I thought the title of this thread was 'How best to honor Caylee.' Seems to me all the hate and anger and negative feelings about the trial are about the farthest thing from honoring her memory that you could get. I would rather use my time and energy trying to offer my caring and support for the thousands of other families who have missing loved ones instead of fretting over something that can't be changed.
But that's just how I am.

Paying it forward..
I had been planning my big 50th blowout with a trip to Italy. I am so disturbed and disheartened by the Not Guilty verdict of Casey Anthony, and by all of the other stories of child abuse and neglect I read on WS and in MSM that I can barely sleep at night. As a new grammy of a 2 1/2 month old beautiful, precious grandson, Finn Alexander, and an Aunt to 4 nieces and nephews that went through years of neglect, despite our familiy's best attempt @ intervention, I feel so urgently compelled to try to make a difference. I have decided to make my 50th a bigger blowout event! My cousin rides his Harley from Minnesota to Sturgis every year and we have teamed up to ride together and campaign for donations per mile for the next year to contribute to Prevent Child Abuse America. We have a whole year to promote until next year's Sturgis Rally. I have never ridden a Harley, but am obtaining my motorcycle license soon to practice and make the ride myself from Seattle to meet him in Sturgis! I am borrowing a Harley from my friends here in Seattle. Will keep you posted! I really need to do something to help, my sleepless nights and endless worry and sadness over these babes is intolerable. Italy will always be there. Anyone want to join?
