TN - Alissa McCommon, fourth grade teacher recently charged with raping a 12-year-old, 2023

McCommon’s plea comes about two weeks before she was scheduled to stand trial on January 7 on the multi-count indictment.

In court, Assistant District Attorney Joni Reagan recounted events from 2021, detailing the disturbing sexual relationships McCommon had with five victims. Some were her students, one was an individual she met at a party, and another she met while playing Fortnite.

ADA Reagan also shared elaborate details on the two-year sexual relationship she had with the first victim, identified as AB, by whom she became pregnant.

This case was surreal, we rarely see a female - not to mention a teacher, commit crimes like this with multiple victims. She was a married woman with children and allowed herself to be come pregnant by the first victim. I wonder who has custody of that child, it's never been mentioned.

There was a case in the UK just last year.

All child sexual abuse has low rates of reporting, but I think it's fair to say that male victims of female predators have the highest risk of not being believed or having their experiences treated like a joke by those they try to speak to about it. There's this societal attitude about male developing sexuality that doesn't take abuse by women of boys seriously, especially if the woman is on the younger side and not a biological relative. A victim is more likely to be congratulated for their 'conquest' than given help and access to rape services.

I think there are plenty of female predators out there that never face consequences for the rape and abuse of their victims.
