Details of Disappearance

Taylor was last seen leaving his residence in Shelbyville, Tennessee on September 20, 1999. His grandmother saw him before she left for work at 11:00 a.m. Around noon, another relative came home for lunch and also saw Taylor. Taylor got a phone call, then left the home and never returned.

He had a job interview scheduled that afternoon and had ironed his clothes and laid them out in his room. His mother was supposed to pick him up after the interview. He has never been heard from again.

His mother found his clothes still laid out. He left all his belongings behind, including his pager, wallet and cellular phone, as well as his two young sons. They were in day care at the time of his disappearance.

Taylor planned to get his GED and become a barber in order to support his children. His loved ones stated he had no reason to leave home without warning; they believe he is dead. His case remains unsolved

I don't know if you'll see this but...

I have two questions about this case, though likely no one here can answer them. I hope it's okay to ask; I do not mean to be insensitive.

Doe Network says DNA is not available for Antonio. Has his family submitted DNA to law enforcement?

Here is a John Doe found on September 28, 1999. This Doe had glasses and rings on his left hand. Has he been ruled-out for this John Doe?

This UID is not on the exclusion list, there are just 4 VA rule outs currently.

Maybe that means they do have DNA and he has automatic rule-outs, too. What is your opinion about the possibility of this UID as a match?

If the unidentified male was burnt beyond recognition (including his teeth), I would say yes as a possibility to explore further. If his teeth were still even partially in tact and recognizable and no gold was visible, I wouldn’t consider it since Antonio had 3 gold crowns. All other details could fit with Antonio, including the glasses.

The distance is quite a ways but not impossible if he was taken, murdered and dumped, especially if he was involved with bad activities or bad dudes.

I'm thinking a Doe found in Detroit is probably from Detroit, but it's possible AT was taken there or went there willingly to meet people and then something went wrong.

He did get a phone call right before disappearing so I assume went to meet someone. But right before a job interview, it may be less likely he decided to leave the state of TN.

(It bothers me that in NamUs for the Doe, no one is listed as an investigating agency/case contributor. And Doe has no listed rule-outs. Detroit does have a lot of cases!)
