@FBIMostWanted

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the whereabouts of Sebastian Wayne Drake Rogers. Read more about the disappearance of the 14-year-old on February 25, 2024, in the area of Stafford Court in Hendersonville, Tennessee, in this FBI story: https://fbi.gov/news/stories/searching-for-sebastian-rogers

“In addition, law enforcement searched almost every home in the neighborhood. Video recordings from nearby homes and a dashboard camera in Katie's car showed that Katie and Sebastian didn't leave the house after their return home from dinner and that no other cars were seen coming or going from Katie's home during the evening and early morning hours of the night or day Sebastian disappeared.”
Don’t think I’ve seen this before.

What does that leave?

He walked away or was walked away, outside of neighborhood security cameras?

He never left the home? And is still there? Stuck in a chimney?

He was driven away by a vehicle no one questioned, because it had a reason to be there?

I'm beginning to think that had to be what happened. He left without his shoes in order to retrieve his shoes from the trash can. Fell in and could not get back out, was driven away in the morning, entirely unknowingly.

A series of extremely unfortunate events but no one culpable for his disappearance.

I think if that happened, they would have found him during the landfill search.

I can't remember, was there evidence that he made it home after their outing?

We recently learned KP had a dash cam that showed them returning home. There was a poor quality video of someone LE believed to be Sebastian taking the trash can to the street around 7pm after he & KP returned from dinner.

The landfill search was from the construction site refuse center. The local landfill where the neighborhood trash went was never searched (or if it was that information was never made public). IIRC they searched the construction site refuse for 1.5 days - then announced they were ending their search and turning to an investigation. They said even though we wouldn’t see them actively searching they were still looking for Sebastian.

Do we know if Sebastian was a bolter/wanderer? Had he left the house where they had to search for him before? Did he attemp to wander away from school? Trying to assess if this was a pattern? Was he afraid of the dark?

If the answers are no to these then you need to wonder did he really leave the house or what was his reason for leaving the house? Did he want to.go back to the bowling ally, did he have friends who were out and around that night?

I went back to the FBI most wanted poster and it does say he was wearing black sweat pants, black tshirt and his glasses, so it appears he left wearing the clothes he had on that day from the dinner video. So I'm assuming he didn't change for bed, so IMO this seems like he did not intend to go to sleep as he was told, or even get ready for bed. Autistic children usually have routines, did he wash up, brush teeth? Mom says he was told to go to bed because he had school, did she witness him getting ready at all? She says she was on the phone for 2 hours, she was awake, she saw and heard nothing but the bang noise?

Nowadays some kids "live" in T-shirts and sweatpants and don't see a point in wearing pajamas. And if their clothes are clean, maybe they wear them for more than one day. I think it's more common than people realize, IMO.

That said, I don't currently believe this boy willingly chose to leave.

The "barefoot" detail is a stickler. He didn't like to be outdoors in barefeet, yet apparently wasn't wearing shoes when he left.

I don't think he left home willingly either. :(

I'm still thinking it's possible he left without shoes because the shoes he wanted were in the trash can... so he went there to get them.

I guess I would like to know more about his life and routines at home. Did he wear PJs or change his clothes for bed? Did he have a night routine, the phone was in the dining room, did he have a PC or laptop in his bedroom? What would he be doing in his room awake if no electronics, did he read or have other games he would play? If he left on his own, did he have a friend nearby or a favorite place he went to by his home?

Oh! That is a good idea. I don't know if that happened, but it's worth keeping on the list of possibilities. If he did that, I'm sure he was in distress and it makes me sad to think about. I don't think that evening after dinner was a peaceful time at home. Just a hunch.

I guess we’d have to know what kind if trash can they had. I’m having a hard time reconciling him falling into a trash can and not being able to get back out. Positional asphyxiation even in a 90 gallon gallon can seems unlikely for a healthy active teen.

The can was placed at the curb for pickup, so was likely at least halfway full, if not completely. How could he fall in?

This case is in my opinion, is going to be difficult to ever solve, barring a confession.

All good questions.

Freak accidents do happen so I think it's not impossible.

Probable
is another story.

It just feels like there's truly no evidence of foul play. No strange cars, no cctv. At least that we know of.

I don't recall if the stepfather had been away for a time, perhaps their weekly trash was atypically light.

Granted I don't knew what evidence LE might have that we don't, but in the absence of other explanations, this one comes to mind because it does happen, unbelievably.

Was the video of someone (LE determined Sebastian) taking the trash can to the curb shared with the public?

I can’t imagine him falling in, he would’ve needed to be incapacitated by the fall to not be able to climb out. Also if deceased Sebastian was in the trash can the dogs would’ve picked up the scent.

Not to my knowledge.

I agree, it’s just not plausible for someone his size. Residential rolling cans, are not stable enough for someone of any height (not a small child) not to be able to tip over to exit.

Could happen if the can was braced in place on one side I suppose. But my understanding is the trash container was taken out to the street for morning pickup.

If he had a habit of wandering, or bolting from the home I would think the parents would have some safe guards in place? A camera? An alarm or chime if a door or window was opened?

Did he go out his window? Would that be plausible by the style of home or did he sneak out the front door? Back door? What is the consensus on how he left the home?

If he had a history of leaving I would think the mom would have opened his door to see what he was doing instead of just calling out and not looking in on him after hearing a bang.
