Friday marked 11 days since Sebastian was reported missing from his home in Hendersonville. After a massive search covering thousands of miles, authorities announced this week that they were scaling back the ground search and transitioning to the investigative side of the case.


In the Friday news release, the sheriff’s office said the support and cooperation of the community has been instrumental in the search efforts so far. Investigators are continuing to urge anyone with information regarding Sebastian’s disappearance to come forward.

Reportedly 200 miles away. How far was the landfill from home? Will they be looking for ponds next? Man, I can feel it, this has a possibility of getting to me. Sebastian has an incredibly innocent face. I tend to become invested in little boys lost. Maybe the laughing and joking that morning was true, only it might have been the day before… before someone disappeared Sebastian.

Not in my experience of following cases. Landfill searches are very public (lots of media attention), expensive, extremely dangerous, and tend to be performed by people specifically trained for that task - looking for human remains in thousands upon thousands of tonnes of decomposing garbage. You have to have a very good reason to do one. Like to find the body of a murdered child. My first case from the start here on WS was Quinton. They searched that landfill for a month before they found him.

Little Cupcake was another one, luckily they had enough time to separate all the trash coming in from where they believed she had been left to a different area and they found her very quickly once they started searching them

Yep. My son has a PDA profile, he would have likely been really mad that I didn't know he was outside (he often expects me to know what he is thinking just because he is thinking it ) and kicked the crap out of the door!

I'm thinking SR may have left while mom was starting to fall asleep on the couch talking to stepdad. Assuming the door may have been unlocked at that point and then mom locks it when she puts the dogs up and goes to bed while SR is still outside. If this were the scenario, would SR knock on the door, or yell or make some sort of noise if he tried to re-enter the house? I also wonder if SR's bed was made when mom discovered he was missing in the morning or did it appear he had slept in it for awhile and then got back-up?

I would like to say that for the record, I am autistic and that at age fifteen and much younger, I was very into Nancy Drew and exploring the equivalent of a massive dump would have been a dream come true for me. I do not live near a dump, but if I did . .

Sometimes silence is deafening. Possibility of abduction hasn’t come up which I would think would be next in the train of thought of a worried mom of a special needs child. He’s not a runner. She’s worried about where he is. Calling out for him or addressing someone who may have taken him seems expected. I know his bio dad called out to him telling him if someone has got you - run.

To wherever he wanted to go. It's hard to say because he wouldn't wander off by himself and also, he hates to walk, but he will go out and walk in the rain, or on the wet ground without shoes with no worries.

I'm not autistic but I went through a phase as a teenager, around 13ish, where I went everywhere outside of school with no shoes.
Stepped on a bee or wasp one day and suddenly being barefoot lost its appeal
