Due to the extensive debris and the potential presence of explosive materials, response operations continue to progress slowly and methodically. Controlled detonations will be conducted periodically at the site throughout the day to safely dispose of unstable or hazardous materials. Nearby residents may see black smoke and hear or feel the detonations as they occur.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the response through Rapid DNA. Rapid DNA is a fully automated process that develops a DNA profile in under 2 hours, depending on the sample type. It is a quick and portable system that allows for on-site DNA analysis to expedite family reunification in the event of a mass disaster.

Rapid DNA uses similar technology to traditional DNA analysis; however, it is specifically designed for samples with large quantities of DNA from one individual. Its effectiveness depends on the condition of the remains. The process begins by developing DNA profiles from family members for comparison with any unidentified human remains.

The victims were named as :

  • Jason Adams,
  • Erick Anderson,
  • Billy Baker,
  • Adam Boatman,
  • Christopher Clark,
  • Mindy Clifton,
  • James Cook,
  • Reyna Gillahan,
  • LaTeisha Mays,
  • Jeremy Moore,
  • Melinda Rainey,
  • Melissa Stanford,
  • Trenton Stewart,
  • Rachel Woodall,
  • Steven Wright .
  • Donald Yowell.
Authorities said the individuals were presumed dead, and the release of their names did not mean their remains had been identified.
That process is ongoing.

In March, Jeremy Moore celebrated his 17-year anniversary at the company, according to an AES Facebook post.

His mother Ava Hinson called for prayer when she did not hear from her son following the explosion. On Monday, after authorities confirmed Mr Moore was among the fatalities, she posted a tribute online also confirming his death.

"Well, I heard it directly from Sheriff Davis's mouth so I guess I have to start believing it. Jeremy Moore 10-20-87 to 10-10-25. Rest in peace my sweet baby boy," she wrote. Moore died 10 days shy of his 38th birthday.
😭

Rest in peace to the deceased.

This may have been preventable and that's so infuriating if true.
Some of the comments.... starting with "Sort by Top", and "C"; are interesting.
There needs to be accountability --if this was negligence on the owner's part !
Imo.

I saw a discussion on the explosion with knowledgeable folks. From what I understand, basically water is applied to the floor in this building to prevent static. If static occurs it could cause an explosion.
