Found Deceased TN - Bobby Mobley, Adult, Carter County, 21 Dec 2017

The Carter County Sheriff’s Office is looking for Bobby Mobley. He was last seen on December 21 around 7:00 p.m.

Investigators said he walked away from his residence in the Lynn Valley area of Carter County and has not been seen or heard from since.

He is approximately 5′ 6″ in height and weighs 135 lbs., brown hair, and brown eyes.

He was wearing a black leather coat with a gray hood, camouflage pants, and tan boots.

A missing person report has been filed in Carter County regarding an Elizabethon man who has not been seen in over a week.*

Bobby Mobley*has not been seen since he left his home on foot in the Lynn Valley community on Dec. 21, according to Sheriff Dexter Lunceford.

Lunceford said his deputies have searched the area near Mobley’s home and along the river bank in Lynn Valley. According to Lunceford, Mobley’s family members have not heard from him and Mobley’s cell phone is off.

“I’m just hoping someone may have seen something or know something,” Lunceford said.

One direction is national forest. The other direction is the river. Opposite direction is miles of rural area. And then to the south is Elizabethton, 30 minutes walk.

Investigators were still working to determine Mobley's cause of death.

The discovery of Mobley's body marks the second body found in the Watauga River in the past month.

Jacob Hampton's body was found in the river in March. Investigators do not think there is a connection between the deaths.
