TN - BRUCE MENDENHALL convicted Truck Stop Killer

  • #41
i did some digging.

this article states that Carmen Purpura DNA, along with DNA from Symantha Winters, Sara Nicole Hulbert, and Lucille "Gretna" Carter, was found in blood samples recovered from the truck

Latisha's blood was also recovered from the truck,

thats a total of 5/10
They stated back in 07 that Bruce implicated himself in 6 homicides

Carmen's/ Carma, Symantha's, Sara's, Lucille's, and two others he was never charged with, Those being the murders of Sherry Drinkard in Indiana, and Deborah Glover in Georgia. Sherry was killed in Feb of 2007, Deborah in January of 2007,

There was mention of Sherry's DNA being compared to evidence in the BM case. I don't know what became of that.
Unless her dna was ruled out, i think theres a strong chance that 2 of the unidentified blood samples in that truck belong to them,

Just a little visual i put together
"Blood" is referring to victims who were matched to blood samples found on items in his truck, according to MSM.

Not sure if this has been posted yet. Apologies if duplicate information or not preferred to be posted in this thread.

It took a Marion Superior Court jury less than 90 minutes to convict a serial killer truck driver of the murder of an Indianapolis woman more than 17 years ago.

Bruce Mendenall showed no emotion as he heard, for the third time in his life, that he was being found guilty of murder after a two-day trial.

Mendenhall will be sentenced February 17th. He faces 65 years in an Indiana prison.

He is already serving two life terms in Tennessee for a pair of murders and still faces trial for an Alabama murder.

In Florida, Belinda Cartwright's family has been closely watching the news about Mendenhall, claiming his Nashville Police Department mug shot closely resembles a composite police sketch of a truck driver who allegedly killed her.

Family members say the 36-year-old mother of two was hitchhiking through Georgia in 2001, on her way home to visit family members in Florida, when she was picked up by a trucker resembling Mendenhall.

Witnesses told police Cartwright climbed out of the cab at a rest area in Lake Park, Ga. When the truck started to pull off, Cartwright jumped on the driver's side running board, yelling for the driver to stop so she could retrieve personal items.

The driver, witnesses said, shoved Cartwright off the running board and beneath the wheels of the big rig, crushing her to death. The semitrailer left the scene, and no arrests were ever made
