Disabled Knoxville man’s 10-day disappearance has family on a quest to find answers

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A mother’s intuition has created restless nights for Nicole Hamilton since her 30-year-disabled son went missing on March 20.

Byron Edwards reportedly left his girlfriend’s house and hasn’t been seen since.

“Something’s wrong,” Hamilton said.

The family has hosted a two-day search party along the river in nearby woods and has called local hospitals looking for Edwards. They’ve only ended with more questions than answers.

Hamilton and her mother, Marilyn, are worried he has gone too long without critical medication to go along with his list of medical conditions. To add insult to injury, he’s expecting his first child any day now.

A recent article profiling 7 people still missing from Knoxville states that Byron has not yet been found.

Byron is still missing.

'Someone has to know something' | Family still searching for answers a year after Byron Edwards reported missing

Byron Edwards was last reported walking in the area of Riverside Dr. According to reports, he was walking from his girlfriend's home to his grandmother's home.

This man's case, along with that of the missing Chadwick Carr, are two more of those types of cases that just baffle the mind. Those mysterious "disappearing into thin air" type cases. Where did Byron Edwards go in what sounded like a very short amount of time? I think it was said his cell phone pinged nearby his grandmother's house. She had called him but he didn't pick up. The family has requested phone records but after a whole year, still had not received them which boggles the mind. Something was said about him wandering off into the woods. Police supposedly searched the wooded area along with canines but picked up nothing. No activity on Byron's bank account since he's been gone. SMH. Seeing the girlfriend crying as she held their baby was heartbreaking. Clearly she was distraught, missing him, and just not knowing where he was or what happened. I understand their baby was born with heart abnormalities and had to be hospitalized several times. She had to deal with that without him being present. Where is Byron Edwards, Jr.?

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — One Knoxville man has been missing for several years with no major developments in his case, but that hasn't stopped Byron Edwards' family from sharing his story. Byron Edwards has now been missing for more than two years.

"We still haven't heard anything, the police is considering it a cold case," said Marilyn Hamilton, Byron's grandmother. "We haven't been able to get in contact with the lead investigator, none of our phone calls have been returned. And so we wanted to use this opportunity to let the public know and be aware that Byron is still missing. And if there's anybody out there that knows anything that can contribute any information, the family needs some closure. Whether the closure is good or bad, we need to find out what happened to Byron."

Law enforcement does not care what has happened to this man. He didn't just walk away. He wandered into the woods and no trace of him was found? Please.

Also, his sleepy eyes looks like he might've suffered from some form of depression. Was that investigated? SMH.
