I wonder what has given them "heightened concern". I don't think anyone thinks they're out in the wilderness roasting marshmallows over a campfire.

In the earlier articles it was stated he bought a lot of batteries at Walmart. My mind is scrambling trying to think of anything he would be using batteries for. Maybe we could list some possibilities.

Not rumor, a statement by DeVine apparently made the other day, but I did not hear him address the finances in today's presser.

I'm getting more confused by the minute here:

No credible sightings ?----what was all that hustle and bustle yesterday by LE after the person posted seeing the van on the Help Find Facebook page?

Are you telling me this guy, his son, and his wife were just making it all up ? The husband said he was tailing the van and could read the license plate while on the phone with 911. No credible sighting ?

That same Facebook page has gone "join only" now. Any ideas as to why ?

Could this simply be a deflection by LE to keep the public looking in general while they are combing the supposed sighting area closer ?

If this guy was seen yesterday in Mooresburg, and I believe he was, did he simply leave the area or has he gotten that van hidden and disguised so well that you literally cannot see it unless you are standing right next to it ? Cave, entrance to a mine........ ??

Steelman, I've heard that story too. Has it been reported on MSM, complete with the name of the man who was tailing the van? it certainly sounds credible to me.

If LE hasn't been able to locate it from their sighting they probably can't confirm it's a credible sighting JMO.

I can't get over the statement by the wife about his disappearing "for attention". Where did he disappear to and with who.....maybe those disappearances weren't for attention and something/someone has shed some light on his activities.

Wonder if they have been able to use traffic light cameras, CCTV to check this out.

The TBI has also been tracking his bank account. He used cash to buy the camping equipment at Walmart, but there has been some activity on his account.

I can't get over the statement by the wife about his disappearing "for attention". Where did he disappear to and with who.....maybe those disappearances weren't for attention and something/someone has shed some light on his activities.

I think his disappearances are tied directly to what we are seeing right now. He was preparing and prepping a spot for his little disappearing act. If the sighting yesterday was legitimate, that would mean he was within 20-30 minutes of his home town. Plenty close enough to go and get things arranged, stocked, and organized, and then return home a few hours later.

I'm beginning to wonder if that broadcast and press conference this morning was an attempt keep him right where he is, and avoid him getting wind that they are closing in. More than likely he is at least listening and monitoring radio broadcast either in the van or on a portable radio. If he hears LE say they have no clue where he is, it's all good for him.

Something is out of whack here.

I've seen the posting on the Find C. page, and he changes the name of the highway - both highways aren't located where he says they are, from what I can see on Google maps. I think there may be some problems with locating where exactly the sighting was. I believe it, though. Sounds sincere, the locations just don't match up with google maps.

They did it because some were afraid Simpson could be reading there and know where they are looking.
