A desk officer took a report in September, 1999, when Miss Alexander's mother reported her missing. A detective interviewed a man in 2001 after Miss Alexander's sister, Yolanda King, complained about the lack of progress on the case.

Campbell County Sheriff’s Department Detective Sgt. The victim in the cold case was identified as Lori A. Alexander, of Toledo, Ohio.
