Knox Co. forensic experts crack cold case, identify remains found in 1998 as missing Ohio woman

Still, a disparate data system and police time constraints only go so far, said Brenda Ritter, who last saw her niece, Lori Alexander, in 1998.

For years, Miss Alexander battled a drug addiction and, when she vanished, she left family members to battle police recalcitrance. A desk officer took a report in September, 1999, when Miss Alexander's mother reported her missing. A detective interviewed a man in 2001 after Miss Alexander's sister, Yolanda King, complained about the lack of progress on the case.

Campbell County Sheriff’s Department Detective Sgt.
