The Murfreesboro Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 17-year-old Cecilia Sarmadi, who was last seen by her father on August 19, 2025, around 7:00 a.m. while waiting to board her school bus. Authorities say Cecilia never arrived at school that morning and has not been seen since. The MPD posted on social media that the teen has now been missing for approximately 60-days.

Cecilia’s father reported her missing later that day after school officials confirmed she had not attended classes. The case has been entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) as an active missing person investigation.

It was later discovered that Cecilia had left her phone at home, and her current means of travel are unknown.

She has no known medical conditions and is not taking any medication. Cecilia has been entered into NCIC as a missing person.

This is Cecilia Sarmadi. She was last seen waiting to board a school bus in Murfreesboro, TN, around 7:00 a.m. on August 19, 2025.

She never made it to school, and she does not have her cell phone with her.

Cecilia is 17 years old 5' 7", and 130 lbs. She was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans, carrying a blue Nike backpack.

This picture is much clearer than the original one that was released. Many have questioned the authenticity of her case. I encourage anyone with doubts to verify this with the Police Department. She is a missing child who was submitted to Namus without a picture in September 2025.

There are errors in NamUs. The NamUs case was created on Sep 15, 2025 and the last seen date is given as Sep 18, 2025 (which obviously can't be correct.) The information released by the PD this week gives a last seen date of August 19, 2025, and also says that she has been missing 60-days. Also, NamUs was submitted without a picture.

So much could have happened to her in two months. Has she been in touch with any friends at all outside of the phone she left behind? (she might have had a burner phone if she had planned on leaving).
