If I was reading that statement and VC wouldn't look at me... oh man I would call her out! I wonder if they're allowed to speak directly to her?
What could they possible me meeting about now?
The family members give their victim impact statements before the judge and both sides' attys to make sure they're ok, before the jury hears them. (They'll hear them in the sentencing phase - after they decide on guilt.)
In the Davidson trial, some things were objected to and had to be deleted.
They also go through photos to see which ones can be shown to the jury.
Both sides give impact statements - the victims' families' are usually very sad, and the criminal's families', asking for mercy because criminal was so sweet, are usually nauseating.
The difference is that the defendant's witness statements are not censored by the court.
I am crying so hard. Deena's statement made me cry. Gary's though is just tearing me up. I hope they don't censor them.

Wait until Mr. Newsom. In the earlier trials, his statements were just gut wrenching
There's such a difference in Mr. Newsome and Mr. Christian. I'm not saying that either is right or wrong. Mr. Christian shows his anger (rightfully so) and Mr. Newsome seems to be so soft spoken and his pain is heartbreaking. I probably didn't explain that well, but for those of you that haven't seen/heard either father's impact statement, you'll see what I'm talking about.
I look at VC and one thing is for damn sure - she has NO remorse.
